They already made People Under the Stairs. Why are they making it again? Why are people paying to see the same movies made AGAIN? What is wrong with you??

I saw the original by myself in the theater when I was 13. It was cool because I was the same age as Fool. I'm getting really sick of all the damned remakes.

If you don't want to see it then don't, damn. We've had some bad ones and good ones, without remakes we wouldn't have such gems as Dawn of the dead and the hills have eyes. I didn't bother watching prom night cause it looked like crap! But I am still all for remakes and horror movies of any kind. I will wait till it's made and then I will decide if it's worth my viewing.

I agree as well. Why a remake of this film it still holds up I say be smart and come up with a creative sequel. As for another last house are you kidding me there are some movies that are not ment to have sequels. How the fuck would you even pull that off? Oh the brothers of the two escaped convicts are out for revenge because of what happened. Fuck that sounds stooooopid. Im not against the remakes like a lot of people are I just wonder what ones are nessacary and what ones really need sequels. Answer not many most of the old ones stand out just fine. People should learn after hills have eyes 2, not like the first remake was that great either. I say if it can truley benefit from being remade then all for it if not dont touch it. I also wonder instead of remaking everything why not go back and spend the money on effects. Take Jaws the movie is perfect you could never remake it. However you could go back spend the money and redo the shark with ground breaking effects same with hellraiser just do the digital effects and thats it then it feels new and fresh. I say thats the way to go.

I'm fine with the remakes. Most of them are awesome and a lot surpass the originals. The originals will always be there...

You only think the remakes are good because you allot them the qualities of the films they re-made. On their own merit these are truly AWFUL 'products' with no substance at all. They are barely even FILMS.

subnoizejuggalo, Remakes shouldn't ONLY be of good movies. Where do you get the idea that it should only be of good movies? I mean, some of the best remakes are of very bad or cheesy original movies(Hills Have Eyes, The Fly, The Thing). If you deem "People Under The Stairs" to be bad, then that means it should be considered for a remake even more, at the least, to make it BETTER(which is what remakes SHOULD do). Shocker, for instance, which was made with the intent of becoming a series, but never got famous because a LOT of cheesy ass special FX. I heard that Craven hired a team, but they pulled out in the last minute, so he had to pull a bunch of favors from some of his FX friends and with what little money they had left, we got really bad FX. And note it wasn't the year the movie was made(1989), cause Dream Child(NOES) was made the same year, and had GREAT FX. They could do so much more now with Shocker, and probably leave it uncut(Craven's original was minced by the censors, and a lot of nudity and gore were cut out). THAT could be a GREAT remake. Then, if it turns good, it could FINALLY become it's OWN series, just like Craven wanted.

Shocker was stupid as hell, so a remake of that would be welcome because it could only be improved upon! The remake of Last House looks interesting...the original doesn't hold up well these days, so I say go for it! But as for People Under The Stairs? Booo! A FUN movie and way too recent to need a remake.

Yes, People Under the Stairs does not need a remake in any shape or form. To echo what has been said, it's not that old yet. If anything, they could do a prequel before the events of the 1990 film. The performances of the man and woman were so phenomenal and over the top, I could not imagine it getting better. Maybe they could cast a younger man and woman in the prequel and a younger Alice.

I don't know how they would pull off a last house sequel unless the parent's of Marie enjoy the feeling of killing a little too much and go on a little hunting trip. :/
