UPDATE: Does Lionsgate Mishap Confirm Dr. Gordon's Return in 'Saw' Franchise?

Update beyond the break. We had been hearing heavy rumors that Cary Elwes would be returning as Dr. Gordon in both the Saw videogame and in Lionsgate's forthcoming Saw VI. While we learned that the studio changes the film depending on what type of news leaks, we decided to keep a safe distance from that rumor -- until now. This evening Xbox Live featured Saw V on their platform for download, only the plot description wasn't for the fifth film by David Hackl. Read on for the interesting synopsis.

Update: We're being told this is for the game (if not a complete farce that both Xbox and iTunes used) and not the movie -- although we're also hearing Elwes could make an appearance in the sixth Saw film (although that's supposed to be top secret and it's being denied left and right), which goes along with reports that the game will tie into the film's release in October.

B-D reader 'JayKah' writes into Bloody-Disgusting. "Today on Xbox Live Saw V was featured, but for the description of the movie it said:

'One man. One plan. One foot. Yes, the doctor is in! With a strange twist of fate and a revengeful plot, get ready for the most anticipated event of Saw. Face your fears at his operating table. Know that no one is safe from his sickness. Chills and screams are his true pleasure. on...and Blood? You'll be drenched in it.'
"

Who else could they be talking about? It's obviously the return of Dr. Lawrence Gordon. The question remains, did Lionsgate accidently send out the synopsis for the game, or for Saw VI? We'll dig and try and find out more, but until then, check out the video below as evidence.

saw 5 was actually good the only probably alot of talking and not alot of blood. i wanted a lot more blood. dr gordan was really the killer in saw 2,3,4. he is also the one who wrote on that envolope "I KNOW WHO YOU ARE".

If that's real, we'll finally know what happened to Dr. Gordon.

Slightly odd this, given that a foot-less corpse is discovered outside the bathroom from Saw 1, in either Saw 3 or 4, whichever one has Wahlberg. Which could suggest a prequel, and the handy resurrection of jigsaw. Either way, the Saw franchise is so far past jumping the shark that it isn't even in the ocean anymore.

Not sure how that will work but *sigh* i'm going to end up watching it anyway.

What if that was a synopsis for the videogame?

MCBD016

That's not for Saw VI. iTunes used that same description for the Saw V release on their store. It didn't make much sense the first time I read it but if it's actually for the video game, that makes much more sense.

ha ha ha! even if this turns out to be some sort of hoax its a damn good one! i loves me some saw 1 and saw 3 but hated saw 2 with a passion. saws 4 and 5 were... entertaining... sort of... actually no, they were shit. KM

If this is true, they could change the scriot before shooting?

Well, it would be a decent way to end it... if they do indeed end it.

game or sav VI? does it really matter. i think they'll be better off by leaving the dr. gordan situation alone. i know nothing was confirmed about his "death" but do we really need to go down that road? Come up with something new, especially if it is true then the shock value is lost and the ending would make the past 5 films would of been a waste of time. And with reading the plot description it goes against Jigsaw's plan in the first place. Sounds more like a stupid spin off for a video game...oh wait...

Does that really sound like a movie synopsis? They would have used Gordon for the twist, so I highly doubt they would have ruined the twist 'accidentally.' Sorry.

it probaly is for the game and not saw 6 but i think they will at some point bring back dr. gordon hes not dead remember in part 2 in the opening scene the guy has to dig the key out of his eye you see the back of the person as they are walkin to the table getting ready to do the SURGERY on him and if you notice he is limping like something is WRONG with one of his LEGS.

It would be a sure sign of desperation on LionsGate's part if they bring him back....He's DEAD. Even DLB has made fun of the theory of Dr. Gordon being the new jigsaw. If this just so happens to be the next step of the Saw franchise, I will kindly walk away.

I wouldn't be surprised if Gordon did return in SAW VI, though I wouldn't take this game summary as proof. Honestly, it would be better than trying to convince us that Jigsaw had somehow survived, and it would certainly be in keeping with the series thus far.

Saw Franchise U.S. and Outside the U.S. Sale total $667,856,931. The Franchise cost to make was $36,000,000. So as long as they are making 18.55555 times the amount it is costing them to make the entire series. There will be no end, until they say so.

On a side note, Why is it that when it comes to F13, Halloween, NMOES and TCM. People are ok with more than 2 sequels, no matter how bad the sequels are. Now that a Franchise (that wants to actually tell a story) comes along and is lasting more than 2-3 films. People are complaining, PLEASE everyone on this site get over yourselves!! So they tell a story more than show gore, too bad. It's entertaining and I have enjoyed every single entry so far, some may be dull, but they continue to tell the story of a man who had a plan. I find that it's a lot better to give us more movies, than give us a shitty prequel that condenses everything into one movie. So stop your b*tching about another sequel to Saw, a remake of something else or low budget horror flicks. Horror is Horror, it's not meant to be Oscar worthy, the acting is often terrible or on par, the plot is often interesting or just plan f*cked up. At least these directors and writers are trying to give us one hell of a time. I mean anything that comes out these days (whether it’s a remake, a sequel or something “new”) people tend to sh*t on it. All Hollywood and the Independent Filmmakers can do is try to come up with something that has been done a thousand times already and try to give it a new twist. Whether they accomplish it or not shouldn’t really matter, it’s not like the people here have really done anything for the genre. So when you see a F13 movie, let your mind go of Michael Myers and don't compare the two. Enjoy all horror no mater how crappy or how lame it is. Other wise when something good does come out, you'll just sh*t on it like you currently do!

Why do people even still care about this series? The first movie was barely competent, and yet we're gearing up for a SAW 6. Those suits crank out this shit and you people eat it up. It's downright shameful.

I hope to God, they don't bring Gordon back!

zombieslasher13

That's the only thing that would make Saw 6 exciting to me. Is that Dr. Gordon has been laying low, waiting to take a bloody revenge against Jigsaw and his goons.

Zaero

I say let this series die. The first one was the only well executed film in my opinion. Everything after that was more about the gore than the story to me. The ending to V was absurd, and I honestly hope that the series ends with VI, at least for a couple years.

if he can come back for the game, he can come back for another movie... it wouldnt be desperate to bring him back. most of the Saw fans either want to see him back, or at least want closure. bringing him back would be a successful way to end Saw.
