Every horror movie thats become a cult classic has a bunch of sweet books about it - there's the Evil Dead Companion - and there's about a million books about John Carpenter and Halloween. But what is there for Clive Barker's Hellraiser? There's pretty much squat when it comes to the work behind the series. Inside is news about a great book being re-issued from Titan Books entitled The Hellraiser Chronicles, which will be available this May.
The Hellraiser Chronicles
By Clive Barker & Stephen Jones
PUBLISHED BY: Titan Books
PUB DATE: 21st May 2004
PRICE: £12.99
FORMAT: Paperback
In 1987, writer/director Clive Barker unleashed Hellraiser, an instant classic which changed the face of horror cinema forever. The Cenobites soon returned, and their leader, the chilling Pinhead (played by Doug Bradley), rapidly became a worldwide icon.
The Hellraiser Chronicles is a beautifully produced, full colour photographic companion to Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II and Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth ? featuring stunning, specially shot portrait
photography unavailable elsewhere, and also script extracts, design sketches, behind-the-scenes stills and interviews.
In 1987, critically acclaimed and celebrated author Clive Barker directed his first feature film which has since become a modern horror classic. Clive
Barker's Hellraiser introduced some of the most frightening and sophisticated images of horror to ever grace the silver screen. No film has ever gripped the imagination so shockingly nor presented such nightmarish characters, deeds, monsters, and ideas which go so far beyond the realm of horror filmaking and fiction.
This is the only official Hellraiser book, and is a must for all fans of the series!
