Malcolm McDowell Officially Returning in 'H2'

Rob Zombie announced today that Malcolm McDowell is returning to play Dr. Sam Loomis in H2 (his sequel to his Halloween reboot), while also taking a jab at press for reporting he might not return (even though it's 100% true that he wasn't signed as of last week). "Rumors have it that Malcolm will not be returning as Dr. Loomis. Well, as usual the rumors are wrong. Malcolm McDowell will be back and ready to deal with big Mike," Zombie writes on his blog forgetting to mention he personally started the CHUD remake rumors last year. The new film picks up right as the first remake ended, following the aftermath of Michael Myers' murderous rampage through the eyes of the sister he hunted.

I never doubted that he would be in it and I'm glad he is.

Thank God that Dr. Loomis is coming back! It wouldn't really be a Halloween movie without him!

Hi everyone, just joined here after being a reader for a year or so. Glad to hear this. Look forward to seeing what Zombie does with H2.

Zombie shouldn't act so smug (regarding how "wrong" everyone was on the Malcom issue), Malcom's Loomis was (IMO) THE worst thing in HALLOWEEN. just awful. that being said, i hope this turns out to be a good (at the least) if not great movie.

Yay! More shitty acting from Malcolm McDowell! Now all Rob needs to do is sign every actor from THE DEVIL'S REJECTS and we'll really be in for a shit-fest. This will be awful.

After seeing the Friday the 13th reboot, fuck H2 AND Zombie's Halloween. I'm just gonna stick to the old series from now on and wait for new Friday flicks. So sad how they ruined Michael...

Does anyone remember the part of the first movie where they ask Mcdowell what does he think Myers will do and he says "I dont know, but it want be good."It went something like that.It was hilarious.Terrible acting

i hated fargo... nice choice Malcolm. the only worthy part was the end with the wood chipper...other than that they can shove those stupid accents and quirky personalities up their asses

Good to see McDowell back. A great character actor. Having no Loomis would've been the worst idea since Greedo shooting first...

This is great news. I know Mr. Zombie was counting on this terrific actor. By the way, the line some dolt is attempting to criticize wasn't "I don't know, but it want be good", which of course could be criticized as it makes no sense, I think actual line was "won't be good". Don't let sense stand in your way, though. Fight for your right to whine, no matter how moronic.

Malcolm McDowell is a great actor, no matter what opinions are posted here. He was in the Royal Shakespeare Co. in England. They don't let chumps in on that. Clockwork Orange was an excellent film, if you haven't seen it, do yourself a favor and rent it. I still don't understand the hate for "H2", I'll still at least give it view before making a judgment. If it's bad, oh well. I've bet I've sat through worse films. Someone please explain why "H2" will be so aweful and the "Friday the 13th" and "Nightmare on Elm Street" re-boots are great ideas.

Its like Rob is proud of getting him back even though the studio didnt want him. What was that about?

Great News! Although I do love Zombie's Halloween, after seeing F13 I wonder what it would have been like if Platinum Dunes did it? Zombie's H2 will be better than the first. He has more freedom and that is why I think the first film was a bit held back.

I'm glad to have Malcolm back as he is a great actor. Sure it had flaws but loved Rob's Halloween and I'm pretty sure this one will be just as good. I don't understand why [so called horror fans] are so quick to condemn a movie that hasn't even been made yet. [Spell check?] Yep I'm good to go.

this the only GOOD news on the film so far, will this out weigh the 'corpse f*ckng" news?....Doubtful.

Thank you, Cathedral opf Demoni. My sentiments exactly. Yeah, Bleed24 is back for more. The leader of the Tampax Brigade. How are you today?

See. I knew him not returning was a crock of sh*t, I'm not sure how they'll work around the fact that Michael more than likely blinded him with those sausage-like fingers of his...then I recall in '81 both of em being turned into crispy critters,so,it should be interesting....at any rate there is no Myers with no Loomis, glad its been confirmed...

Tampax Brigade?? guess theres no way to stick to the topic here either...cant we all go up a grade here? say....1st grade instead pre-school?

Your welcome Coffinjoe. I'm doing great. Think I'll go see Friday the 13th in the morning. Anyway Bleed24 should quit while he is behind. He makes it way to easy for you and Pike to entertain yourselves at his expense. lol. Have a good one.

There are those that liked H1, and there are those that didn't, but at least all of those people saw it to come to those conclusions. I for 1 enjoyed it for what it was, and do recognize some flaws (what movie doesn't have flaws). I'm looking forward to H2, and will comment on it's merits AFTER I have watched it. Glad to have Malcolm on board, he is obviously a great actor to have been in the biz 50 years and he has been in over 150 flicks. I'm glad he's playing Loomis instead of switching to another actor, I like consistency. Now hating the unfilmed H2 because you didn't like H1 makes as much sense as loving Exorcist 2 before it was filmed (or after for that matter) because Exorcist 1 was so good. So I have to ask those of you who are already slinging feces on this movie without having anything to base that hate on: What exactly is it that makes this movie suck? I'm serious, I'd like to enter into a respectful intelligent conversation with the haters in an effort to understand a little better. So Bleed24, I am asking you because you are quite vocal, and Stewietantrum, because your sentiments were so succinct. And I'm not trying to be a smartass. I'll respect you, and request only that you do the same. Not an argument, not name calling, but a conversation.
