Universal Home Video has announced DVD ($19.98) and Blu-ray ($29.98) editions of Army of Darkness for the 19th May. DVD Active reports that the new "Screwhead Edition" will include commentary with director Sam Raimi, star Bruce Campbell, and co-writer Ivan Raimi, deleted scenes, an alternate ending, additional footage, a Men Behind the Army featurette, and the theatrical trailer. The Blu-ray release will also include additional production photos via its U-Control mode. Stay tuned for the official package artwork. Forced to lead a makeshift Dark Ages army against the demonic Deadites, who possess all the deadly magic of hell, the shotgun-toting, chainsaw-armed, reluctant 20th century time traveler Ash (Campbell) must save the living from the dead, rescue his medieval girlfriend and get back to his own time.
are they cleaning it up at all? It would be nice if it was restored a bit for the bluray release. Even though the dirt and grit always make it more 'authentic' sometimes it makes the bluray pointless.
will hold onto my boomstick oop dvd too bad anchor bay lost the rights to this otherwise we should be getting the third and final book of the dead dvd with new features rather than this from universal
Nice, can't wait it comes out 3 days after my birthday!
