Rob Zombie has pulled out a bag of his old tricks by casting both two Texas Chainsaw favs, "My old buddy Bill Moseley and Caroline Williams have joined the growing cast of H2! Bills returns as Uncle Seymour Coffins a local Haddonfield horror host and Caroline plays Dr. Maple the head doc at Haddonfield General. Let the good times roll!" Both stars are from Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 from back in 1986. Click the title above for all of the names cast thus far. Dimension Films will bring Michael Myers back to the big screen on August 28th, 2009.

Why cant RZ just do one big casting announcement once everybody is signed ?

cause he loves the attention bro, its obvious. and apparently he loves pissing people off because he his shitting on the halloween name two times over. if big daddy akkad didnt die in that terrorist attack, no fucking way he would of let zombie turn the halloween series into the trailer parks movie of the week.

Cause if he is still writing the script, or he might be done I don't know, then he is still creating characters and getting them casted. Besides, even if the script was done, it doesn't take a day to cast all the people that are needed for the film. First they need to get the script, than got audition if needed and meet with teh casting directors, then once everything is done and handled, they are or aren't cast for the role. Hell some movies can be in production for months before finally having the entire movie cast.

And not to disrespect "big daddy" akkad, but if he let both Halloween 6 and Halloween Resurrection get made, which I think our the worst in the series, than even if you hated this movie, which I don't and will defend it till it's released, he probably still would have produced it cause he loved the Halloween series, which was apparent since he produced all of them til his death and probably would have produced this. But it is not kind too speak of the dead and I will stop since I have made my point and I hope Akkad is doing well whereever he is resting.

Are more teenagers ever going to get cast, or is Laurie simply going to be surrounded by old horror legends who will get their 5 excessive minutes of screen time to remind the audience of much better movies? Seriously, I don't mind nods to other movies/legends, but can we keep it at a Final Destination-like minimum (think: Tony Todd's role)?

I Think Mr. Cummings trys to cast big names in the horror Genre and other walks of life and puts them out one by by one becouse he knows this way he can build more interest in the film "oh is Malcolm Mcdowell in or out" it is really quite smart if you think about it. In this case he knows that casting stars and washed up stars of yesterday is a good way to get people talking. He is trying to astablish these movies as a fan boys franchise.

Finally some good news. I sure hope Caroline and Bill share at least one scene together. Maybe I'll see this after all.

I agree on H8 point, but not with H6. But I would throw in H5, and even H2 and H3, the series has never been all that great, it has a great character, and a great original, but the movies are very hit or miss. But I'll take the crap I got with H5 over any movie that deals with white trash themes. Just my opinion.

Didn't Mosley get killed in the last one? Not that I'm complaining. I loved the last one, and Mosley is one of my favorite character actors, but it kinda feels like Zombie is going back to the well with the casting. How much you want to be Sheri Moon is gonna be back in another thong?

The Whiners Club is holding a convention. DeathMagick, your attempts to introduce actual ideas to discuss will be thwarted. These whiners are not interested in sharing ideas; they are much too enamored with the sound of their own gibberish. Nevertheless, DeathMagick, I salute you in your impossible dream of raising the level of discussion in this kindergarden. But look on the bright side; they do provide a certain amount of bizarre amusement, much like the geeks in a sideshow biting the heads off of chickens might.

Pike, there are the whiners, and then there are the people who apparently dont tolerate the whiners and do nothing but whine about the whiners.

All I have to say is that Rob better not mess this up. Hopefully he'll redeem himself and win some people over. I think he's a good director, but remaking Halloween wasn't his thing.

This remake continues since 07' to stir up more B.S than any other movie. Why is that? Freddy, Jason, Leatherface are ok. You can remake them and I might bitch a little here and there. But MICHAEL MYER'S !!!!!!! HOW DARE RZ, THAT S.O.B !!! It has been stated before, but I don't think it mattered who directed the remake of Halloween. He/she would be ripped apart no matter what." REALLY SHITBUSTER"???

To me it's NOT the fact that zombie is directing the remakes. (i own the 2disc and the behind the scenes and extras are worth buying it alone!) it just his attempts, and this will be the fourth one to turn his films into the horror equivalent of 'the thin red line'. The war film with more stars than actual decent plot. If he cut out trying to fit every person he grew up with and reveered into his films, and really got down to brass tacks and worked worked worked on the script and deep character development, then he would really show all the haters that he means business. he did it with his music up until 'educated horses', so Mr stryker sir, please...get you 'white zombie era' creative hat on and get down to business.

YES!!I'm so excited to finally see Caroline Williams in another film. She was My Woman when I was in the 6th grade. She's got nicer legs than Daisy Dukes! Anyways, man. May I suggest that it would be so badass if you were able cast Alice Cooper since he did so well in Freddy's Dead.

Well this is horror after all, and in this genre it is common to give 'shout out' to horror fans (I still question how many of those actually frequent this site, seems more like horror haters) by casting genre faves and horror icons, like Englund, Moseley, Tony Todd, Gunnar etc.. It shows that in part the movie is being made for the fans and their geekness (and I say that positively) is being recognized and pandered to. And of course certain names create hype, that's why they are cast. It's not like Tom Cruise or Will Smith are the end all be all of acting, but their names create interest, buzz, and ultimately revenue in A Grade movies. Movie making is a business, and marketing is part of that business. God forbid a director makes choices that might generate interest to real fans and make him money. Gasp, the shame. As for the releasing of names, yes, maybe that is to also generate ongoing interest, keep the movie in the news, or maybe its just the sites job to keep fans posted as news becomes available. Why is this so hard to understand. Its just common sense, it's nothing to get yer panties in a bunch about... seeing as you all are the ones reading the news and generating talk about it, and really really investing yourselves into something that makes you so irate.

It's becoming almost embarrasing that these genre stars are becoming nothing more than cameo heads.

Horrorfan1988, Bill Mosely did die in the first one when he was playing a security guard at the Mental Hospital which Michael broke out of. This time around he's playing a horror host which means he'll probably be in heavy make up so only true genre fans will be able to know it's him. I don't care if Rob likes working with certain actors and actresses. It's almost like a producer working with a band for a few albums. The more they get to know each other on a personal level the better the performance comes out.

Hopefully Rob will have the good sense to put In-a-vida-da-gada baby! in this one!

I am so not looking forward to this Halloween, here we go again w/ casting people that is in every film he does like Bill. Bill was even in his Halloween Remake and died and now he is back as another character. This film is gonna be pathedic and send Michael Myers straight to hell. Good job there Weinstien's way to think ahead. Friday the 13th and Jason I do believe is gonna be the new KING and Halloween and Michael are gonna be his bitches I do believe. Now believe me I have ALWAYS liked Halloween and Michael more than the Friday's but now I think it's gonna be a turn around....
