Warner Bros. Pictures' troubled comic book adaptation Jonah Hex has finally gained some steam as the studio has signed John Malkovich to square off against the previously announced Josh Brolin. The adaptation of the DC Comics property that begins production in April. Malkovich will play Turnbull, a wealthy Southern plantation owner whose son is killed by Union soldiers during the Civil War. He blames Hex, a former confederate soldier-turned-hardened bounty hunter and gunslinger. Jimmy Hayward is directing the script by Crank and Pathology scribes Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.
I cannot wait. Jonah Hex is one of my long-standing favorite comic books and Josh Brolin = a perfect choice to play Hex. Adding in Malkovich will just help juice this baby into a whole new film experience!
