Platinum Dunes Producer Brad Fuller once again updated his official blog with some really, really interesting news. According to Fuller, when Warner Home Video releases New Line Cinema's reboot of Friday the 13th, it will contain two versions of the latest Jason Voorhees escapade (both which are very different from each other). Click here to read all about it and check out Friday the 13th in theaters this weekend.

That's both cool and kinda lame at the same time. It's cool in that we get a movie that is not only more graphic and intense, but also has more story, but lame because why can't we get that additional story in the theatrical release? I hate how studios will have things like that trimmed. If I pay $9 to see a film, I want as much movie as I can get.

On the one hand, it's awesome that someone is finally putting out a director's cut (or cliched UNRATED) version of a movie that actually has major differences from the theatrical version. On the other hand, it's kinda lame how studios figure we all wanna see a watered down version (though undoubtedly this will still be frickin' sweet) in theatres instead of the full on, balls-out way it was intended to be seen.

UGHHHH!!!!! Why can't we just get the best version of the movie in theatres. All of my favorite horrors lately have been given edited theatrical releases. RZ's Halloween, SAW V, and now this. When will the editing stop?

I really hate that. Then you don't know which story to actually follow, the theater release or the DVD release because something will differ and it just confuses everyone. Like in Zombie's Halloween, I'm pretty sure they got rid of the amazing scene where Michael kills off like 5 police officers for some disgusting rape scene which was utterly pointless. So stupid.

SCREAMER,the dvd isnt another story,it said it just adds more to the storyline so the storys not going to be different theirs just going to be more to it

i am one of the lucky fans that saw the screening of this movie in new york, the producer and writer made a hit out of the remake of texas chainsaw massacre, and once again made a great movie, this is by far the best remake i have ever seen before, its everything you want, usually the previews look good but when you see the movie it aint all that great but the movie is just as good as the previews, im definately going to see it again on friday the 13th, and we got to watch the movie with jason !!!!! all im saying is that everyone will love this movie and i would not change one thing, i wanna thank them for making this movie, and im so happy that there also doing a nightmare on elm street because this guy knows how to make a movie, just wish he would have done halloween.. Congratulations guys and thanks for giving us a free screen test it was awesome and i promise you fans you will not i repeat will no be disappointed..

It's kind of funny how it took all those years to get an extra 20 seconds of gore released in the original and this one is getting an extra 10 mins right out of the gate haha. Awesome!

this is great news! i had a HELL of time getting the theatrical version of halloween 2008 on dvd at a reasonable price - i wont have to worry about that this time as good old new line are gonna do the decent thing and put both versions in one unit. infact this is so selfless i guarantee someone has lost their job because they werent greedy enough to be... y'know... hollywood babe.
