'Friday the 13th' Deleted Scenes in TV Spot!

There are literally handfuls of deleted scenes from New Line Cinema's Friday the 13th that will hopefully make the DVD release this summer, but until then you can see two segments from one scene in the fifth TV Spot to hit the web. Beyond the break you can watch the footage and read about how the scene was used in the original cut. Jason Voorhees returns to the big screen on February 13th.

**Spoilers Follow**

In the following TV Spot there are two shots that are from the same scene removed from the final cut of Friday the 13th. In the scene Jason Voorhees is in his "lair" sharpening his machete (final shot of the TV Spot), where he has a flashback about his mother (Pamela) and puts his mask back on. The original draft of the script carried a moment where Jason remembers the day his mother lost her head (literally) and reaped revenge on the camp counselors.

glad they axed that, too far into him being a normal maniac for me to handle.

Yeah. . . I wasn't sure at first, but seeing Jason sharpen his machete doesn't seem right.

How are those two shots considered "Handfuls" of deleted scenes?

That sounds like it could have been cool. What is it with everyone dissing slashers with stories. It happened with Rob Zombie's Halloween and it is happening with Friday the 13th. I don't know if this is studio interference or not but this is pissing me off. I mean don't get me wrong I'm still seeing it as soon as it comes out but I wish they wouldn't cut things just so the dvd can have something new to offer.

DirtyD, i'm w/ you. WHERE is the other scene? i can see the "sharpening machete" scene, but what/where is the other one?

Guys read carefully, it says that in the TV spot there are only two shots of THAT deleted scene that won't be in the final cut. So the scene when Jason is sharpening his machete and has a flashback of his mother's death isn't in the final cut.

I see it as a good thing if they kept it in the final cut because it would be good to see that he has some what of a reason to be all pissed off

the two scenes are clearly stated to be sharpening the machete and him putting his mask back on after remembering his mother dying

Damn! The 'sharpening the machete' scene was cool... why would they cut that!?

I agree, I was looking forward to the scene where he's sharpening his machete because that's badass. He's gearing up to go kill some stupid teens. I'm kinda sad that there not going to show a lot of Jason and his mother. That's something we've never seen in a Friday film before. I'd like to see a seen with the two of them interacting so you can see that they both love each other which is why she would kill people after his supposed death and why he kills after he sees her get her head chopped off. They've never really built a connection between them. It'd be great if there was a scene where after she got her head cut off Jason comes out from the woods, kneels down and takes his mother's head back to his lair. Because that is when Jason the slasher is born at that moment.

Does anyone else find it interesting that the guy playing Jason this time actually kinda looks like the Jason from part 4? Now that's creepy. Unless his segment from the His Name Was Jason documentary was in makeup, that's one fugly guy.
