Behind-the-Scenes of REC 2!

If you were lucky enough to see the Spanish horror sensation REC, then you've got to be excited for the sequel, which is being helmed once again by Jaume Balaguero and Paco Plaza. Last November TV3 went behind-the-scenes of REC 2, but unfortunately it's in Spanish. Feel free to translate below if you understand what's going on. The same talented directors stick to the same claustrophobic concept in REC 2, but find new means of transferring fear from the screen to the spectator through the recording lens. The film is now in post-production.

I wonder if it's gonna have relation with the first one or it's gonna be a different story. By the way... THAT'S NOT SPANISH...well it's a kind of spanish. That's CATALAN the spanish of the Catalunya region. The spanish that most of the world knows it's CASTELLANO.

Yep, totally right, it's Catalán, but basically (as far as I could understand)the news comment that some important avenue was shut down for several hours not due some accident but due the filming of "Rec 2" a movie that, yadda, yadda, yadda,. Then in the interviews the actors and extras talk little about their roles (a reporter telling stuff to the public although nobody knows what;s going on, a woman from a neightboor building that was force to evacuate her home at 4am, an guard that was call on a emergency but apparently NO ONE knows what;s going on on the building (or what they are filming anyway)then a real reporter (the guy with the creepy look)ends up commenting that everybody had fun on the set,and although said situation would be terrible on real life, everybody it's sure to enjoy it on the movies later on.... .... or something of the like.. I guess the sequel could be in the same time frame of the original... Let's wait and see.

I would love to see this movie. Is it really true about the movie Quarantine being just the US version of REC? I would still love to see it.

Is English "a kind of French"? For God's sake! Catalan is not "a kind of Spanish"! it's just another language!

English is actually a kind of "Latin" with bastardized words from other languages. Catalan is a dialect of Spanish, not another language. Much like American English is actually a seperate Dialect from The Queens' English.

Redcapjack, I'm a Catalan speaker and I feel sad about your comment. No, Catalan IS NOT A DIALECT of Spanish! Please, check out Wiki (or any other encyclopedia): "Catalan is a Romance language, the national and official language of Andorra, and a co-official language in the Spanish autonomous communities of the Balearic Islands, Catalonia and Valencian Community and in the city of Alghero in the Italian island of Sardinia. It is also spoken, although with no official recognition, in the autonomous communities of Aragon (in La Franja) and Murcia (in Carche) in Spain, and in the historic Roussillon region of southern France." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catalan_langu age You can never learn too much! Regarding the film, I think it will begin as the parallel story of the people outside the building and afterwards it will follow its own way (in or out of the building)

HMMMMm, my original thoughts were that the sequel would take place at a supermarket; since the dad pf the girl in the first one went to one to get her medecine, I thought he would have an outbreak there at the store, then everyone would fight to survive. Anyways, how cool would this be if they made a series. like the first one took place in a building, second one the disease would expand, and the third( if any) would be the whole world slowly sucumbing to it! Just thought that sounded awesome...
