Magnet Releasing has delayed Toby Wilkins' Splinter from January 27th to an April 14th DVD and Blu-ray release. Check out the DVD cover art inside. A young couple has retreated to the wilderness for a romantic camping weekend-but the trip quickly spirals into a nightmare when they are car-jacked by an escaped convict and his girlfriend. Thrown together by chance, no one can imagine the terrifying horror that awaits the two couples at a remote and isolated gas station.
I don't understand the point in delaying this release, especially a low budget flick with no huge stars. What will the delay really accomplish? The movie is ready to release on DVD, why wait? It'll just delay a return on their investment to the film.
I watched this flick in October on VOD. I have to say, it was a pretty damn good, especially considering the budget. It is worth watching, at least once. Don't pay attention to the shite cover.
