the month and date this movie is coming out is quite a disaster for this kind of movie. anyone expecint TCM remake numbers or F v J numbers should just know that now. Hopefully it makes enough bank for a sequel though.

that tv spots like a week old

I must say that F13 looks really good. It seems to have all the elements that I was hoping a new F13 would have: reboot, Jason as the killer, Mrs. Voorhees and young Jason shown, hockey mask and machete, set in Crystal Lake, suspenseful and scary, dark and serious, human Jason, Jason's cabin complete with mother's head, and a return to the classic Jason look. The only things I'm not sure about are: 1) teens to care about and 2) Jason sans mask at the end. Otherwise it's exactly what I'm looking for. As for ANOES they will have to do a LOT to impress me. That's a very different type of movie all together.

I don't think thedate is going to affect the box office too much. Atleast it won't have any stiff horror competition with MBV3D of been out for a month before and nothing grand opening after it.

@jasonlives1986 Horror does BETTER in the early part of the year due to nothing else is out, awards time is done and this is when alot of studios dump lower budget/horror movies. Horror released in this time frame always makes big money, plus then the movie is ready for a DVD release come Fall when they will make bank due to the holiday.

They seem very confident and cocky in their blog that this is a badass film. And from everything we've seen it's hard to argue. They really seemed to care about this project and I hope it's as badass as the say. Jason's been reborn and looking meaner than ever.

massdeath, i agree w/ you %10000! you put it perfectly (IMO). i hope the reveal (and Fuller & gang, there HAS to be a reveal of Jason's face....there simply has to be. just sayin'!) of JayJay is going to be at least as good as part 2's and part 4's (and from everything i've been faithfully reading on this movie!) it WILL BE! regarding what i've read/heard (from the test screening and some script "sides" making the internet rounds) we WILL indeed have at least a couple of protagonists we really care about (JENNA, WHITNEY and of course CLAY, and JENNA! i say Jenna twice because...well after you see the movie you'll know why). and to join the posts above mine, i CAN'T WAIT!!

You know what I can't take about this movie? You know in the trailer where that old woman says, "she ain't missing she's dead." Nispel has a fetish for old women in horn rimmed glasses. Remember in TCM remake those women sitting around wearing those same kind of glasses, talking about Leatherface's family. Second, the woman sounds southern. I know they filmed the movie in Texas, but Crystal Lake is New Jersey. Make it seem authentic. I would advise fans to get the new Fangoria, it has an excellent pic of Jason with his hand around a girl's mouth. He looks like a giant about to eat her.

oh, and to BRAD FULLER, keep up the great work! i LOVE your entries in the PD BLOG when you are calling out the HATERS. i spend time (on a regular basis) on the IMDB FRIDAY board, since this movie was announced and the HATERS are SOOOOOO incredibly well....HATEFUL. i can understand how some people dislike remakes and whatnot, but there are SO many people who just love HATE on everything regarding them. (i can't believe all the hate on the (pretty much) the entire movie because the pic of Willa looking at Jason from the water looked TOO yellow (which i didn't, just for the record)!!!!! Brad, you and the gang (all involved in this) ARE greatly appreciated by MANY, MANY, and MANY of us horror movie lovers (and YES we ARE "true" horror movie fans like the folks who say we AREN'T! lol). BRING ON FRIDAY the 13th!!

Hey does this movie take place in New Jersey? I know it was filmed in Texas (because it's cheaper and better on skimpy dressed actresses filming night scenes because of the heat.) But the lady talking sounds southern. Where is Crystal Lake supposed to be now. I also thought I saw the license plate of their truck say Jersey.

(except dark knight which got robbed for the oscars). ready for jason!!!!
