This past week it was revealed that John August would be writing the PREACHER adaptation for Columbia Pictures. In a new article over at THR it was also revealed that he'll be penning Frankenweenie for director Tim Burton. The original short film from 1984 is one of Tim Burton's earlier films. It's a parody of the 1931 film FRANKENSTEIN based on Mary Shelley's book of the same name. The story tells of a man who brings his dog back to life after it is killed by a car. Watch the entire short beyond the break.

Ha, I've seen that short a few times on my special edition Nightmare Before Christmas. I heard rumours of a full movie, but I didn't think they were serious. Should be fun.
