I can't even begin to tell you how long this project has been in the works and how tired I am of being disappointed. After the short tease of a possible HBO series, once again the Preacher adaptation is moving forward (as reported here in October), this time as a feature film (again). John August (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Corpse Bride, and Big Fish) will write the film version of the subversive comic book series for director Sam Mendes, reports Entertainment Weekly. Preacher is based on the works by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, which center on a foulmouthed cleric who is imbued with the word of God and battles an all-powerful religious society. Neil Moritz's Original Films is producing the movie for Sony Pictures.
I honestly hope this never comes out....no matter how good the movie is, it will never compare to the comic. Although the prototype for arseface was amazing
I hope this never gets made. I loved the comic and no movie or even a triology could do it right. Id rather not have it done than have it done and fuck it all up.
