Sundance '09: Official Review For 'The Killing Room'

B-D reporter Ryan Daley has just dropped in a review for The Killing Room, a film by Jonathan (Texas Chainsaw: The Beginning) Liebesman that premiered this past Friday the the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. "Shot with claustrophobic intensity, THE KILLING ROOM reigns supreme during its first hour... [it] ultimately works because it doesn’t seem that far-fetched. I just caught the midnight screening at the Egyptian (aka The Way All Sundance Horror/Thriller Flicks Must Be Watched). No Q&A whatsoever, sadly, but the film spoke for itself. Enjoyed Ryan's review, and would go as high as an 8.5 on my own 10-point scale. "Cube" meets the "Saw" series indeed, but superior to the first by a few inches and to the latter by a mile.
