Bloody-Disgusting caught up with director Alex Aja the other morning to discuss the Mirrors DVD and Blu-ray, which is now available at retailers everywhere. The director is currently busy prepping Piranha 3-D. Aja confirmed that while PIRANHA won’t make the original July release day, he does plan to have a trailer ready to screen in 3-D before FINAL DESTINATION: DEATH TRIP 3D on August 21st. I finally got around to watching "Mirrors" last night.Despite being well made and even having a few creepy scenes it was pretty much a blueprint Hollywood horror letdown. I thought "The Hills..." remake was better than the original and I suspect Pirhna' will be fun, but I think we are going to lose the man that kick started the new wave of French horror with "Haute Tension" to the almighty Hollywood dollar. And that is pretty sad if you ask me.
Will be watching Mirrors this weekend. But why are so many people wanting to make their movies 3D now? It's cool to watch, but you don't want to get burned out on it.
Yes!! Mirrors was ok, but what the fuck?!? MBV 3D was so good because the filmmakers knew what we horror fans like, a good story,a relatively good mystery, gore, and bouncing 3D titties!
What is it with Aja moving to Hollywood and just doing remakes (The Hills Have Eyes, Mirrors, Piranha)? He had Haute Tension which was a pretty brutal and tense slasher, but since all he has done is remake other people's work. While Hills was okay he should start making original movies again
AJA is the man you guys can knock him if you want but his movies have been pretty cool. Mirrors started off cool but then fell apart but it was still pretty cool, The Hills Have Eyes was a remake that i thought was outstanding. I am still waiting to see the original Mirrors
make something original again, High Tension is fuckin great!, aja is good remaking movies but he's better making original things!
