During a recent interview with My Bloody Valentine 3D director Patrick Lussier, we got the skinny on a possible sequel to the film, along with details on what he'll be doing next. You can check out the remake in theaters January 16th.
On a possible sequel Lussier tells us that, "It all depends on what happens next. Todd Farmer and I definitely know where we'd take the story if fortune give us the opportunity."
On what's next he tells us that it's "Undetermined right now, but mostly like another genre film. I've been developing a couple of things with Todd, all dark, fun and scary. The film adaptation of HEADHUNTER, Michael Slade's book is still something I want to make and have wanted to make for years now. But as usual, the future is the hardest thing to pin down and it's usually the thing you don't expect that surges forward."
In HEADHUNTER, the women aren't safe with a beheading killer on the lose. Detective Robert DeClercq was even eluded as he and the police combed the lower depths of the sexual underground on two continents.
If it's good, at the least, a sequel would be interesting considering the original was a stand-alone. Would be cool to see a "My Blood Valentine" series(you couldn't really call the original a series).
The original was supposed to have a sequel but the project was scrapped. I hope this is a great flick, I've been excited about it for the last six months.
msn the movie didnt even hit theatres yet snd already sequel talk to this and the jason remake..sheesh cant anyone come up with ORIGINALS instead of remaking the classics?!?!?!
The original MBV should have had a sequel!! LOL...So I am excited to no end that is a possibility of a sequel to the remake. But technically a sequel to the 3-D remake would not be a remake since there was no sequel to the original. Nonetheless- Can't wait for next Thursday. Seeing an early screening of the 3-D remake!! Whoo-Hoo!!
The poster was cool, but the trailer is awfully gimmicky (even though one of them claimed the 3D isn't a gimmick) Hinting about a remake sequel before the remake comes out is stupid. At any case it looks better than the Last House on the left remake
But here's an idea for Hollywood. Why not put your money behind an original slasher script (there are many sent in) and create a fresh new villain for the genre like you did 10 years ago..
they just don't have the balls anymore to take the risk
Quint, I believe the Addicted to Chaos line is "my heart was blackened/it's bloody red/etc."
Great song, great band, great man (Dave Mustaine).
