While browsing around on the IMDB page of Warner Bros. upcoming remake of Friday the 13th I noticed something intriguing. On the site they credit Nana Visitor as the actress who plays Pamela Voorhees (Jason's mother who is beheaded in the original) and Kathleen Garrett as "Jason's Mother". We made a few phone calls and learned that there are in fact two people playing Pamela Voorhees, and here's how. Visitor - who was the first cast - stars in the actual film at Ms. Voorhees, while Garrett shared her voice as Jason's anger-filled mama in the full trailer that's been online the past few months. Hope that clears the air. You can see Visitor in action when FRIDAY hits theaters February 13th, 2009.

betsy palmer is theo nly mrs. vorhees in my book they look NOHTING alike!...i agree twistedbitch....hey kunac yea she does lil bit....oh well chichihahaha lives on! one more month!
The original FRIDAY THE 13TH is my favorite movie of all time, and Betsy Palmer is a major reason why. That said, if I were trying to sell a remake/reimagining/whatever of the film to today's audiences, I wouldn't way to myself (or the studio bosses), "We have to make sure that Jason, the globally recognized face of the franchise, isn't really the killer!" As great as the original F13 is, if you tried to reboot this franchise with Mrs. Voorhees as the killer, it would undoubtedly be a financial failure. The general populace - the people who will ultimately determine whether this movie is a hit or a miss at the box-office - want and expect Jason. If you made it clear up front that Jason isn't the killer, moviegoers would stay away in droves. If you tried to keep it a secret and reveal it at the end, ala the original film, a majority of viewers would be decidedly underwhelmed, and perhaps even feel cheated (because they expected it to be Jason).
Sometimes I wish they would teach classes on the film industry and marketing in junior high school.
I had a feeling Ms.Voorhess dabbled in the lesbian circle look at the hair cut on both of them now imagine them making out of course with Ms Palmer at the age she was when they originally made the movie
Wow. You noticed what could be construed as a mild inconsistency on the IMDb of all places, and now it's EXCLUSIVE news. You must have rotten breath from sucking your own dick.
Mr.D, thanx for clearing that up for me/us. i noticed that "2 mothers listing on IMDB too while ago and many of us over at the IMDB FRIDAY the 13th board have been wondering what was up....and thanx to you Mr.D, we now know! i wonder, was it just cheaper or more convenient to have Miss Garrett do the voice over? or.....?
either way, thanx!
Ol' Betsy is & always will be Pamela Voorhees in my book. My uncle met her once at a bookstore in L.A., but unfortunately didn't get me a damn autograph. That was over 18 years ago, but I still give him grief about it !!!! Dammit!!!
Thank god Sherlock Holmes solved this mystery! The next story will reveal how Jason is in fact stunt doubled by various people throughout the film. I can't wait.
It does come across extremely lame that they couldn't just have Nana do the voice over for the trailers. If her voice wasn't good enough for the trailers, why have her in the movie?
