This morning we scored three exclusive stills from Lionsgate's My Bloody Valentine 3D, which hits US and UK cinemas on January 16th. In the new images, you'll find out what's inside the Valentine's Day candy box, which was teased in a previous clip. In addition, over at the official YouTube channel you can make and send your own personalized "horror-themed" Valentine's cards. Beyond the break you'll find the pics, along with a brand new long synopsis for Patrick Lussier's film, which will hit 900+ theaters in 3-D.
Ten years ago, a tragedy changed the town of Harmony forever. Tom Hanniger, an inexperienced coal miner, caused an accident in the tunnels that trapped and killed five men and sent the only survivor, Harry Warden, into a permanent coma. But Harry Warden wanted revenge. Exactly one year later, on Valentine's Day, he woke up... and brutally murdered twenty-two people with a pickaxe before being killed.
Ten years later, Tom Hanniger returns to Harmony on Valentine's Day, still haunted by the deaths he caused. Struggling to make amends with his past, he grapples with unresolved feelings for his ex-girlfriend, Sarah, who is now married to his best friend, Axel, the town sheriff. But tonight, after years of peace, something from Harmony's dark past has returned. Wearing a miner's mask and armed with a pickaxe, an unstoppable killer is on the loose. And as his footsteps come ever closer, Tom, Sarah and Axel realize in terror that it just might be Harry Warden who's come back to claim them...

Chief Newby recieved a box of chocolates in the original film, which was at first a red herring for something more dastardly. It was a sweet moment amidst the horror. I feel this new version will nuke character development in favor of the visceral, which is okay, I guess, though I liked that softer moment in the original. Added a touch of class, which I fear this remake will not have. We'll see.
Mr. D, how is this showing what was in the candy box in the clip released yesterday(?)? this new pic is from an entirely different scene than the scene w/ Kerr and said candy box. just askin'.
i'm SOOOO excited to see this! i know it's going to be awesome!
900+ in 3D means pretty much every theater with one of those big fancy digital projectors will show it in 3D (the trailers play on it too much for a theater manager NOT to want it. that would mean turning away many angry customers looking for 3D thrills) Real 3D doesn't work with film, so check with your loacl theater to see if they have a digital one and if they plan on showing the 3D version. Chances are, if your theater showed Bolt in 3D, they will do the same with MBV3D...My theater has gotten every Real3D capable movie so far, so I'm super excited.
This isn't the box from the clip unless this guy ends up in the police station sometime after they get it. which, since it is a horror movie, is rather probable haha
DISANTI, if you go the MBV3D website, enter it, and there's a link for "theaters that are playing it" or someting to that effect. you enter your zipcode and it pulls up the closest theater near that zipcode with the REAL D tech.
Watch this movie bomb at the box office!! I will laugh my ass off then. It has been a while since I have seen so many trailers and ads for a movie. It will probably suck!!
twisted why are making a comment?i for one am excited to see a horror film in 3D... personally at the moment i dont care what is in the box until i am in the movie theatre...
