From writer/director Wes Craven comes a suspense thriller that warns us evil is working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And if you have any chance at beating it, you'll have to fight for your life 25/8. Beyond the break you can check out the first two official images from the film, alongside the full synopsis.
In the sleepy town of Riverton, legend tells of a serial killer who swore he would return to murder the seven children born the night he died. Now, 16 years later, people are disappearing again. Has the psychopath been reincarnated as one of the seven teens, or did he survive the night he was left for dead? Only one of the kids knows the answer.
Adam "Bug" Heller (Max Thieriot) was supposed to die on the bloody night his father went insane. Unaware of his dad's terrifying crimes, he has been plagued by nightmares since he was a baby. But if Bug hopes to save his friends from the monster that's returned, he must face an evil that won't rest...until it finishes the job it began the day he was born.
This looks interesting Im a huge wes craven fan. I love and cant stress that enough that they are using kids that look sixteen and not thirty year olds playing sixteen. It becomes much more dramatic and terrifying when you see someone that looks like a child being killed.
I'm so excited to see Wes Craven is back! The film sounds creepy and although Wes says it should be a good R rating, I fear that the studio will cut it for a PG-13 since it has young kids in it...I doubt it though, this sounds way too much like a slasher for them to want to cut out what makes it great.
Hopefully this is one of Craven's good movies. It will be interesting to see how he does. Hell, the last movie that he at least wrote was The Hills Have Eyes 2. Wait and see!!
Last time Craven both wrote and directed a movie was with New Nightmare, and that movie kicked ass! I have some faith in him to deliver an awesome movie. I mean, if he plays his cards right, it could be the start of a NEW horror franchise. Y'know, a NEW horror movie icon that isn't just yet another remake of an existing one. We NEED more new horror icons!!
Surely this new Craven film will be better than Raimi's new one. Apart from the Evil Dead trilogy Raimi has sold out and the Siperman movies were an embarrassing joke. Hope the title does change 25/8 is a lazy title and the reasoning behind it is a little hokey. Anyways, looking forward to seeing this whatever it's called
Hooray for Wes Craven AND Sam Raimi. Both their horror flicks look bad ass. Raimi sold out? Don't you even friggin' know he was a big fan of reading Spider man comics when he was a kid? Fans don't sell out. Now, whoever directs Siperman will probably be a sellout.
From the synopsis alone, this film sounds incredibly lame and on a par with some of the Wes Craven Presents features... Like others have said, it's great to see him directing again but this sounds like PG-13 fare and a step backwards, rather than forwards for his career.
OMG... I´m still recovering from Cursed. I hope Wes redeems himself with this one but I´m not holding my breath.
