Arriving on Blu-ray tomorrow from Paramount Home Entertainment is Paul W.S. Anderson's Event Horizon, which is one of his most loved horror films he directed. If you click here you can read David Harley's review of the Blu-ray release to see if it's worth revisiting nearly 12 years after its release. Its name: EVENT HORIZON. The high-tech, pioneering research spacecraft mysteriously vanished, without a trace, on its maiden voyage seven years earlier. But a weak, persistent signal form the long-missing craft prompts a rescue team, headed by the intrepid Captain Miller (Laurence Fishburne, THE MATRIX and MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE III), to wing its way through the galaxy on a bold rescue mission. Accompanying Miller is his elite crew and the lost ship’s designer (Sam Neill, JURASSIC PARK); their mission is to find and salvage the state-of-the-art interstellar horror. Kaname Tousen 3:02pm, December 30, 2008 Sunshine didn't rip this movie off Event Horizon was about a ship that was purposefully suppose to recover the other ship, Sunshine they didn't even know the other ship was there until they got close. The thing with Sunshine that pushes it over Event Horizon was the fact that it was an elemental experience between everyone and the sun. Such as asian captain who in the end accepted his fate and just closed his eyes and stood there,and that doctor who was seeing how much of the suns natural life unflitered he could take, then there was Cappa's final scene which was just very heart warming with him touching the old sun as the new one is made at the same time.
