dont understand why a company exist soley to remake movie after movie, i have no problem with mrs. voorhees in the flick, but little jason kinda bothers me. were actually going to get flashbacks showing how jason survived in the woods? this movie is going to be unlike any before in the series, just like JTM, JGTH and JX was, and none of those ones were any good, so while I hold out hope that enough stays the same for me to enjoy it, the more i read the more it sounds like they tried to hard to give the character and the story more meaning that never existed in the first place.

Jasonlives1986 you're a moron! You obviously are one of those crybabies that complains about everything. If the movies stick to the formula of the series you bitch about that. If they try to do something different you bitch about that too. There IS depth to the Jason Voorhees character. I'm a Jason fan. Don't judge this remake until you see it in the theatre!

I usually judge on trailer but some times even trailer can tell me how well they pulled off elements of a story especially in a remake

bro, you don’t know me. judgmental I would say? there is NO depth to the Jason character, its a fucking slasher you dick wad. I only complain about the stupid shit, like underground tunnels at your average camp ground, some little kid who lives in the woods for 30 something years feeding on the wildlife where MANY people populate, seriously dude, imagine the camp ground you spend your summers at, do you honestly think its possible for someone to live there unnoticed for 30 years? that’s not depth, that’s completely unbelievable. you must be one of those guys who goes around hating on all people you perceive as haters, where the fuck would people be if they didn’t question the products they deserved? I’ve been a Friday the 13th fan longer then anyone involved in making this movie has been making films, at the very least they can respect my opinions. i can handle change, but i don’t need to know things like why Jason survived all those years, i don’t need to know how jason gets around so fast, i don’t need to know why he wears a hockey mask, there are no reasons for these things, they just happened, now all of a sudden they have more meaning then originally intended? what for? don’t even get me started on jason capturing his victims and holding them for information, or kidnapping people and not killing them. or torturing them before killing them just to get them to talk. its like Jason is a hybrid of Rambo and the three retards in Wrong Turn. No go away, I’m not some peon who complains to complain, I know exactly what I want in this movie, and I know exactly what I don’t want to be changed, its what I want, I don’t need YOU to tell me that what I want isn’t really what I want until I see it, you want what you want and I don’t call you a clueless retard even though you are.

this is AWESOME news!! YAY!! i've been REALLY excited and looking forward to seeing Nana's take on Mrs. V and now it's going to be! and i agree w/ Fuller, there are SOOOOO many haters (especially over at the FRIDAY the 13th 2009 board!). i'm so stoked for this movie and i hope (and feel it WILL) be great.

jasonlives, i hear what you're saying but Jason isn't torturing Whitney, he's not trying to get info out of her. (i DO admit that upon hearing that Jason was keeping her "kidnapped" because she reminds him of/looks like his mom was odd). there are NO tunnels that go all over Crystal Lake (it's a LOOOONG basement/tunnel-like thing that runs under the old, decrepit Vorhees house, as seen in the trailer/footage. noone said (as far as i know) that we're getting this elaborate backstory on Jason (young Jason) and Mrs. V. some flashbacks? yes.

Great to hear Mrs.Voorhees is in the movie. I would like a little backstory to Jason and his upbringing and how he got there. We have seen all the other bullshit the last 25 years, bring something new to the movie. I want explanation, same with The Nighmare on Elm Street movie. Tell me something new about Freddy we don't know and build the story from the beginning of his crimes. That would be interesting to me.

jasonlives1986 i do believe ima have to disagree with u on JTM, JGTH and JX. there was some great kills in all 3 of those movies and thats my favorite thing about the friday the 13th movies. i acting could be the worst and i wouldnt care a bit as long as the kills were good.

Ms. Voorhee's and Little Jason vs, Freddy and The Thing. Ashley Simpson as Ms. Voorhees, that Mini Me guy as little Jason and Nicholas Cage as Freddy with CGI as The Thing. And Make it PG-13.

I AM THE EGG MAN

In the hopes that the producers really do read these boards, I have a suggestion or two with the Nightmare remake. Try to make Freddy a really evil man as opposed to what we've seen before. No quips, no humor, just sheer evil that kills because he loves doing it. Don't explain why he likes it. Just make him devoid of anything that would make him human in our eyes. Let's see a real flesh and blood human being abducting children. Let's have a scene of a parent grieving over the body of a murdered child. Please show us a group of parents, meeting in secret, and conspiring to seek private justice by killing this evil child killer. Let's see the wrath in their eyes. I want to see something eerie that creates the sense of unease and panic that would cause such a thing to occur. We need a full backstory that heightens the terror when such a man ceases to be human and alive, but becomes supernatural and unstoppable. The first 30-40 minutes needs to feel like Zodiac meets Mystic River, and the next hour needs to feel like The Exorcist meets Halloween. Give us real flesh and blood characters that we care about. We need to know and identify with the parents just as much as the kids. Please do not give us slutty teenagers who talk like the kids in Juno. This is a gothic story. Let it feel like one. If you get this right, you'll have the distinct honor of actually making a remake that is better than the first.

Jasonlive: Hey man i get what you are saying but fans of the series have had questions for years about what happened to Jason. Is he dead or alive? How did he survive? What happened when he "Drowned?" I like the fact that someone had the balls to go back and try and explain that. At the same time, I want to see a persecptive of Mrs. Voorhess losing her mind after her son is gone. Was she perfectly normal and just driven to what she did, or what she always nuts? A little flashback isn't going to kill anyone and it's probably going to be during the campfire scene. It should play in nicely. Quit hating.

Back stories are great.. Darth Vader is much cooler now that we know he was a little wussy from planet pussy - It's like that Dark Knight movie - if they had shown the Joker growing up in a broken home in the Narrows, we could have enjoyed watching him be asshole ALL THAT MUCH MORE - RIGHT?! WE NEED THIS INFORMATION DON'T WE????

anyone see the masters of horror series, specifically deer woman? "what is it with you white people, you always want to know why." why do you need to know why? shit happens, get over it, and go with the flow.

i agree with most of what jasonlives said im a big jason fan and i dont really want to know these things why would they go out of their way to prove theres nothing supernatural about jason? they dont have to make him a zombie (although i personally like the zombie jason more then the living)but they could leave some of the mystery behind him everytime i think of this movie i picture it being a wrong turn 3

i can't beleave that producers like them care about "haters"...people that didn't see the movie yet. they are not jason fan, jason fans are people that want to see jason again and again and again. a friend of mine saw this movie and said it's GREAT!!! i'm sure it will!

To be honest I don't care if the plot sucks, as long as it has Jason killing people. None of the Friday the 13th movie plots were great.

xVicex_Myers
9:59pm, December 27, 2008

The plots never did make sense. As much as I love these movies, I do agree that they didnt wanna let you know weather Jason is a Zombie, or some kind of retarded kid who hates people, so kills for a living.

I myself have had questions about what happened in those in between years, however, thats what made the story more frightening. The unknown is scary. Some back story would be nice but I can't see half the movie answering questions about the past. Relax people, this will be good and a new F13 franchise, done correctly, will be just fine for this fan! P.S. I think the fans should just stop responding to the haters. No point in giving them what they want. 6 more weeks!!!

i'm looking forward to the friday the 13th remake as well as the nightmare remake. i was hoping the the nightmare reamke would be more like a prequil. showing freddy being younger & showing why he became what he became & then lead into the first nightmare kinda like rob zombie's halloween did. either way im excited about the remakes. just hope they're excellent & robert england will still play freddy. how can you have a nightmare movie without him?

Friday Part 7 Rules!!
11:28pm, January 3, 2009

jasonlives1986- I always look forward to your comments on here. I agree that most of the time movies (remakes or whatever) don't need to explain every last minute detail until they/we are blue in the face. That being said- a small moment or two of back story is alright. IF that is what they do. Think back to the campfire scene in the original F13Prt2. When Ned jumps out? A scene like that with the new cast chatting but we are hearing Mrs. Voorhees' voice tell the BRIEF tale of Jason. Or even better the overview that was the opening for Part 7!! I'm cool with that. I have no doubt we will love the remake. Warts & all!! Take care buddy!!
