Bloody-Disgusting learned this morning that Ernie Barbarash (Cube Zero, They Wait) has been tapped to direct Hybrid for Studio 407 and Myraid Pictures. Written by Peter Kwong, the plot follows vacationing college students stalked by a mutant creature from the deep. The monster, who emerged from polluted waters, gets his revenge on humans by "fishing" for them in the sea. The project was first announced last January as the film is an adaptation of a new comic book arriving in stores February 25th.
This movie would have to really kick ass. Has everything be done that we have to go back to creatures from the sea again. Every sea creature movie I have ever seen SUCKED!!!
So exactly what is this creature a "hybrid" of? They call it a mutant result of pollution, and yet they call it a "hybrid" which is something completely different...
I know, details...details...
No thanks. If I want mutant pollution monsters, I'll rent The Host again!
