A pretty awesome film we saw at this past November's AFM was Joel Anderson's Lake Mungo (early footage), a documentary style horror film that was pretty damn creepy. Inside you can check out the official one sheet for the film, which is already being remade here in the States by Paramount Vantage. MUNGO tells the story of a teenager whose apparent death sets off a series of paranormal events. Frightened by what appears to be otherworldly activity, her family discovers secrets about their daughter as well as what lurks beneath Lake Mungo. The original film was shot in a sort of faux-documentary style, but the new version will be a narrative adaptation.
I saw this movie. Definitely a "slow burn" type movie. I bet they add in a lot of jump scares to the remake. Really the only thing that makes it interesting is the documentary angle so I don't know how successful the remake will be...
