Alternate Version of First 'Friday the 13th' Image
Wednesday, December 17, 2008

The first ever image from New Line Cinema's Friday the 13th featured Jason Voorhees in the distance stalking a young victim afloat in Camp Crystal Lake. The picture is tinted with a yellow filter and looks gritty and grimy, only something interesting was noted this morning, there is a variant version of the photo. Read on to check it out.

Note the blue coloring in the second image, which comes from the film's official website, which one is the version we'll be seeing in theaters come February 13th? Do you guys have a preference?

WOW. How irrelevant is this? Do I want piss yellow or tinty blue for my water? HMMMM...

I mean, either one would work. It doesn't really matter, but would that chick really want to be floating around in that grimy-ass water? The grimy water does give Camp Crystal Lake a great feel though.

clearly because the color of the water is that important

Why?

i was really hoping for a more muted beige tone... possibly a sage green?

If you think it's irrelevant, then just ignore it. Some people like everything F13. Just because you're not interested doesn't mean others aren't.

I prefer the "blue".. either way this won't be that relevant to the movie itself. This is the only remake I wish to see

I;m going to to with the green. I've never seen a lake with that perfect color of blue water.

It's supposed to be a lake right? So why would it have ocean blue water?

GI.Dan

The piss Yellow looks more like a real lake

Inga

I think the original yellow makes the picture look clearer and more realistic. It looks a little too hazy in the blue. Lets just hope the red is the right color;)

Green was the original color. Look at the gaps in the girls hair in the blue one and you'll see that they missed a spot coloring the water. Anyways, this picture isn't really news-worthy.

The second one looks like something out of Lord of the Rings. Way too pretty for this kind of movie. And it's all irrelevant, as everyone has said.

Someone caught this in the forums....you're weeks behind haha. Who gives a shit. Clear water though...it's Crystal Lake...not Shit Brown Lake.

I don't care...although it is Crystal L ake and not Pissy Lake Campgrounds.

it matters more than you'd think. If the water was the piss brown it looks a bit sepia which was the overcolour of the tcm remake, so i dont want that. Crystal-Clear is better.

The blue looks a little strange and filtered itself, but it looks closer to how the lake looked in the original to me, so I like it better. I agree that they wouldn't have named it Crystal Lake if it was that dirty. Although, maybe it has become a sewage dump since it was originally named? Now Jason is the Toxic Avenger!

The water is no more irrelevant than the movie.

i can't believe they lied to us about the color of the water...

Both images are cool. I like the yellow water better. I think it gives the film a cooler look.

I like the blue version better, but it should be a bit more contrasty like the yellow one.

hegemon13

They are both too extreme. I say make it look like an actual lake. The yellow looks disgusting. No chance in hell I would get in that to swim. On the other hand, the blue looks swimming-pool artificial.

I may just be tripping, but am I the only one that sees a face in the fog?

disanti...i like you...you're funny....can't say i care...but i like the yellow better...not that it will really change how i feel about the movie...
