As part of their 2009 preview, Sony Screen Gems provided us with a brand new image from Underworld: The Rise of the Lycans, which arrives in theaters January 23rd. The filmdirected by Patrick Tatopoulos delves into the origins of the centuries-old blood feud between the aristocratic vampires, known as Death Dealers, and the barbaric Lycans (werewolves). A young Lycan, Lucian (Michael Sheen), emerges as a powerful leader who rallies the werewolves to rise up against Viktor (Bill Nighy), the cruel vampire king who has persecuted them for hundreds of years. Lucian is joined by his secret lover, the beautiful vampire Sonja (Rhona Mitra), in his battle to free the Lycans from their brutal enslavement.
i wasnt reall looking forward to this, as from what i have seen it dont have the chick form the first two. but looking at the pics VICTOR IS BACK!

Yeah this prequle was tottally un called for. The hsould ahve carried the story on. we already know what caused the fued between the lycans and vampires. So really is this called for is it really called for
Why a prequel? Where is the last chapter where the super Vampire/Werewolf (Speedman)and the Vampire/Demigod (Beckinsale) unite the two clans and produce the perfect hybrids? Wasnt that the storyline? Thats the movie I want to see.
I want to like this film, but I just have a bad feeling its going to suck. I mean I personally didnt like the first film and he second one was just over the top with corniness.
