Zone Film is delivering a slice of horror with Jeff Welch's Piecemeal, a pretty interesting film that tells the tale of a teen who struggles to control his rage while living the life of a brutally abused young man in recurring nightmares. Daniel Roby is set to direct the film next fall after helming Remstar Prods.' 1970s-era saga FUNKTOWN in March. Seville Pictures will distribute the film in the U.K. and Canada, which means a Lionsgate release in the States is highly probably. Roby scored the TIFF's best Canadian debut feature award for his excellent vampire thriller WHITE SKIN. TCB Film's Simon Trottier will produce the film - his recent Toronto thriller MARTYRS helped land director Pascal Laugier a gig helming Dimension's next HELLRAISER film.
Toronto thriller?? No, correct me if I'm wrong, but Laugier shot Martyrs in Montreal. I don't know if the film was partially produced by anyone in Toronto' it's more likely Canal + in Paris.
