EXCLUSIVE
Alternate Ending For 'Friday the 13th' Remake

You saw some reviews hit the web regarding Marcus Nispel's Friday the 13th, now it looks as if we'll be seeing something completely different when the film hits theaters February 13, 2009. Some pretty sweet news comes in this afternoon as sources tell us that Platinum Dunes shot additional scenes for New Line Cinema's remake, which follows a group of young adults that find themselves going toe-to-toe with the infamous Jason Voorhees (Derek Mears) at a cabin near Camp Crystal Lake. What exactly was shot is unknown, but we can confirm a new (or possibly variant) ending was in fact filmed. That would be pretty awesome to see on the DVD!

The original ending probably didn't please the test audiences... That, or they're setting it up for sequels.

That's what rob should have done

SPOILERS ALERT!!!!!!!!! You have been warned!!!! For those who haven't been spoiled (and I'm one of those people who have been), the original ending goes like this: After the supposed death of Jason, the (I won't say any names or numbers) survivor/s manage/s to drag Jason's body into the lake...realizing it's finally over he/she/they wait/s on the dock for a moment. BAM! Jason bursts out of the lake/bursts through the dock and grabs a survivor and pulls him/her underneath the lake. So! You were warned...and we had news that the ending would be a major homage to the original ending in Friday the 13th, being a dream sequence. So I'm actually glad that they shot a different ending, and it means we're getting more special features to the DVD.

Scream110, I knew about that, but there was no need for that in the comment box. They could still end up using that ending. Anyway, I'm glad to see this for one reason. It shows that there is a definite effort to get this movie right. I'm glad they were willing to drag everyone back to get the shots they wanted. I'm excited about this.

You just don't learn do you, if the had to shoot extra/redo scenee its because it fucking sucks! look at twilight it had reshoots and people who loved the books are quite disapointed that several things from the book they wanted to see were not there; in fact it has lost 62% of it audience same thing will happen here strong opening and dfrstic decline due to word of mouth and unfullfilled expecttions.

Not true. They had originally filmed the ending with no thought of a sequel, maybe they want to try a few other things to see how it looks. Leave it more open. I'm not against that. Let's get one thing straight about twilight...that fucking piece of shit story sucked from the minute it was put on paper. Not to mention that is book to movie...that usually turns out bad anyway. Twilight and it's stupid fans suck ass.

The ending described above sounds pretty damned 'cut-and-paste'. Hope the reshoots improve it (and get used).

The who posted some info on the site about the test screening said that the ending montage felt rushed. Maybe they want to add a few more things. We'll see...I can't wait till this thing comes out!!!

Tombstone had to have tons of scenes reshot, and was that a horrible movie? Hell no. Reshoots don't mean shit.

haha Tombstone...awesome. I've been trying to do the doc holiday coin thing for years...I can only do it with pens though haha. Yea exactly, it just is what it is. Sometimes there are things you see in post that leave you with no other option but to go back and do it again.

Since it has long been confirmed that the film is being condensed to 90 minutes from 2 and a half hours of footage, I don't know why the existence of additional scenes is news...
