My birthday is on the same day as the release of the remake (just over a week after these are released). At least I know what to tell people to get me for my birthday!
How can anyone like this cover art? Imagine part one with Pamela's head on the cover, part two with Jason wearing the bag mask, part three with the hockey mask! How can part three be deluxe when it's not even in 3D?! Just a quick cash in and no love for the horror fans.
@phibes*curse I'm guessing you missed the part of the article where it points out that part 3 is indeed in 3D? or maybe you failed to notice the gigantic "3-D" on the cover art for part 3? Also, the cover art is a nod to the old school cover art.. . I'm guessing you adored the dreadful cover art that was used for the boxset?
Part 4 deserves a Deluxe Edition as well, but I'm seriously diggin' these covers! They're modernized but still keep in tact with the original ones. Can't wait for these to be released in R2.
friday the 13th part 2 is my favorite. thats the only one i'll be buying. I MIGHT buy the 3rd one just to see what it looks like in 3D. But I have so many copies of the first the I really don't feel like buying another one. lol
Hmmmm. The original in its uncut format is tempting, but there doesn't seem to be any indication 2 or 3 are being released uncut too (or maybe I missed it?).
Also missing is the audio commentary for 3, since that was included in the original boxed set along with some interviews. I think I'm going to hang on to mine, and let my brother pick these "Deluxe Editions" up. He doesn't have any of 'em yet, so these would be good starter DVDs, but otherwise, my original box set might do me just fine so far.
The specs are pretty good overall, but where are all the features for 3? Being in 3-D with one trailer isn't enough. And what about new film transfers? Paramount gives half assed effort yet again.
The original Friday the 13th still rules - with Jason's mom as the killer. I mean, there's nothing scarier than a big, ugly woman. Hang out in a dive bar at closing time and you'll know what I mean.
I know what you mean, my ex mother-in-law looked like Dee Snider(Twisted Sister) when she went out. "You're one..ugly..motherfucker"-----Predator.
