Rob Zombie Returns to Haddonfield for 'Halloween 2'?

Some very interesting developments come in this morning courtesy of Shock, who report that Rob Zombie has officially come on board to write and direct Halloween 2 for Dimension Films. They also write that filming is slated for March, which means Zombie will have to hit the gas on writing a script, unless he's secretly been developing it over the past few months. Sources close to us have told us that Zombie has been asked repeatedly to produce the remake, and Zombie even told us he wouldn't stick his name on something unless he was actually involved in the creative process. We've put out calls and e-mails to various sources attempting to get some sort of confirmation (and the silence makes me think something is definitely up), we'll get back to you with an update as soon as it comes in. If this is true, I guess we can scratch T-REX off the slate for awhile. Post your thoughts beyond the break!

WOW, seems like even Rob goes back on his word doesn't he? I remember him saying that it isn't for the money and that he won't do a 2nd film that Halloween was IT. WOW they must be holding a pretty big carrot infront of himfor this. Not thrilled about it but not 100% ticked off about it either. I do wish someone else would write the film and maybe have Zombie Direct and or Produce it.

Hmm...I'm all in for Halloween 2, but a shit-load of haters of the remake, that are fans of the franchise, will be pissed when they find out Zombie's more involved than just producing...

He needs to ditch the stupid white trash act and actually try to make it frightening and suspenseful. Zombie has talent, he just hasn't used much of it yet.

I enjoyed Zombie's Halloween but the fact that he said he has NO intrest in doing a 2nd Halloween showed me that he really doens't care to much for the franchise or the film. So how do we know he is going to give this film/script 100% of his talent and everything and not half way give a crap just for the money! I read a script for Halloween 2 that someone is trying to get into Deminsion Films and it is a pretty damn good script. I would like to see that script used and maybe Zombie Direct or Produce that film.

mexi cant- You are not alone, I loved Zombie's version as well. Thought it was one of the best remakes out there. I am stoked for this! Zombie didn't want to do the second one, but I think he soon realized that if someone else did the second one, it would take away from what he established (which some people want), but I for one am happy. Best news Bloody-Disgusting has broke in a long time!

Please Horror gods DO NOT LET THIS HAPPEN!!! If Zombie gets off his Texas Chainsaw "wannabe" kick maybe he can fix his disaster with the remake by making the sequel right. He DID NOT do Michael Myers justice....at all!

1 million better filmmakers out there and they give it to Rob Zombie. Wow!!! That's all I can say.

Seriously though, if this is true they better get their asses in gear and deliver a good film this time, and it better have alot of reference to the original Halloween 2 which is one of the best films in the series history.

the nerds got their hairs up now. hahah. i could care less, if it looks alright i'll probably go see it. i didn't hate the first as much as some of the basement dwellers around here.

I've never really enjoyed anything in the franchise past the original 'Halloween'. The 4th one perhaps and maybe 'H20' to a superfluous extent. I was always blase about the remake but am curious to see where Zombie may take this.

DarkVengeance
7:30pm, December 1, 2008

We do know the story with it, but that dosent mean they cant make a good sequel to fix the bad problems that plaugued the first remake.

brandonsl21

I think Rob should just Direct the film and let someone else write it. I think everyone should talk to the guy on myspace who is trying to send in his script and hopfully you will agree that his script is kick ASS and it does follow RZ's Halloween and does some of the original H2 but add's a lot of other stuff. The site is www.myspace.com/newhalloween2 Check it out.

ill stick to my guns and not see this. hopefully the money hits them where it hurts by allowing him to ruin the halloween name. twenty years from now, when all the "lovers" are out of the way, people can see his halloween and apparently its sequel for what they are, and it isnt a good outlook. I wonder how he gets his wife into this one.
