In an early alert to retailers, MGM has announced a March Blu-ray release for the Oscar-winning classic The Silence of the Lambs, according to High Def Digest. The horror-thriller, which snagged the top five honors at the 1991 Academy Awards (including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress, and Screenplay) will make its long-awaited Blu-ray debut on March 3. (MGM has previously released multiple special editions of the film on DVD). There are no tech or supplement specs yet for the Jodie Foster-Anthony Hopkins starrer, but watch for further details in the weeks ahead. Stay tuned. Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.99.
