We learned this afternoon that Anchor Bay Entertainment will release Susan Montford's holiday thriller While She Was Out (trailer) in New York and Los Angeles on December 12th, with additional cities to follow. In addition, beyond the break you can check the official theatrical poster for the film that stars Kim Basinger as a suburban housewife that is forced to fend for herself when she becomes stranded in a desolate forest with four murderous thugs.

I rented this on DVD a few weeks ago and whilst it's not original (I'm sure its straight-to-DVD status here in the UK had a lot to do with Eden Lake!), it's still a very effective and tense thriller. I really enjoyed and would recommend it seeing it. It's certainly a strong 4*/5 film.
I have the uk version of this and its a fantastic film, well worth watching! its great to see kim basinger in a main role like this as she dosnt usualy do your bloody violent thriller type movies. she still looks sooooo sexy in this movie, she is one HOT woman.
Ive seen this - and going into the first five minutes was very unimpressed with the story, then direction, everything at hand. Ends up it is watchable, keeps your attention, and overall is better than I expected. Couple of decent kills in the film for extremists, and the whole female/survival side should be well accepted by the ladies. I agree with thedescent08 though - didnt really deserve a theatrical release. But then again, everything released through Hollywood seems to be as daring and original as apple pie.
