Why does that box in the youtube video have the numerals IV? Isn't that 4, not 5?? Also, that tagline is listed on IMDB as belonging to Saw 4. Are you sure this isn't a double dip for 4 and not a release for 5?

What a great way to get horror fans to buy a subpar film. I'd get the film anyway to complete my saw collection.

Ok so, I don't know if anyone has even watched it yet, or posted about it, but I got a copy of the unrated director's cut of Saw V last night and watched it today at work. I was only able to view it once, so, I can't really remember ALL of the changes, but, here is what I remember - The opening is slightly different, during the credits, they show a small clip of the door going into the building that Seth is in *the same door Hoffman exits after he does the deed* Seth's death is much much gorier, you see some of his guts fly onto the floor and hit the wall while the pendulum is killing him. Also he also whispiers something right before he dies, I can't really make it out, and I don't have the actual DVD but just the movie itself, but I don't believe he said anything in the theatrical version. Right after the Saw V logo appears, they slightly changed this scene as well. Strahm is not shown entering the "sick room" From Saw III, instead you hear his voice on a black screen "Let me see your hands!" and then they show him shoot Jeff. They also don't show Hoffman slamming the door shut or walk away either, the whole beginning after Seth's death is all Strahm. Jill's scene where she gets John's tape, is shortened by a few seconds, right after she closes the black box, the scene ends. A short scene was added, right after Hoffman steals Strahms cell phone, a police officer walks in on him to tell him that the hospital called about Agent Perez. Right after the "chamber" game. They cut to Strahm in the office, asking himself when Hoffman first met Jigsaw. They show some more close ups of photos from Seth's crime scene and they added a few short scenes inbetween Strahm looking at the files, of Hoffman telling Fisk to keep him updated on the Jigsaw case. Hoffman then sits at his desk, recieves a note similar to the one he received in present time, stating "I know who you are" presumabely from Jigsaw, folds the note up in his pocket, and then the scene continues to Hoffman entering the building where he's kidnapped. After the Saw II flashback, there's some added dialogue between the 3 characters before the tape plays. Brit explains a little more of why she's there. After the tape plays, instead of Luba immediately hitting Mallick, she actually tells him to get in the tub and that they're going to use him for the game. He tells her to *beep* off and she then hits him into the tub. --------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- Here is where the scenes were re-arranged. Quite a few scenes were switched around, I'm not sure why, but my impression is that they felt some of the scenes would make a few things make more sense maybe. Anyway - Right after - Hoffman is promoted Theatrical: Erickson visits Strahm in the hospital and he is told he is off the case. Hoffman finds the note in his office. Hoffman visits Agent Strahm. Unrated DC: Hoffman finds the note in his office. He then steals Strahm's cell phone from the evidence room. Hoffman is told *in an exntended scene* by an officer that the hospital called about Agent Perez. Hoffman then visits Strahm. Then Erickson visits Strahm to tell him he's off the case. Right after Strahm flips the stretcher over- Theatrical: Hoffman steals Strahm's cell phone from the evidence room and then calls Erickson from it. Unrated DC: Hoffman calls Erickson from Strahm's cell phone, which he stole earlier in this verison. The ending had a lotttttt of re-editing done to it Right after Hoffman leaves Strahm's cell phone in the lair - Theatrical: Erickson's assistant finds Strahm's signal, and Erickson leaves to go there. Mallick and Brit prepare for their next game. Brit realizes that all of the keys would have worked. Brit realizes they were all supposed to work together, and their game begins. Strahm watches Hoffman get in his car and follows him. Hoffman arrives at the Saw II house and Strahm follows behind. Erickson arrives at the new lair. Strahm enters the house Erickson walking up the stairs to the front door of the new lair. Strahm walks passed the stairs in the house. Erickson enters the lair and starts to investigate. Strahm walks down a dark hallway. Mallick confesses what he did. Strahm enters the living room and finds the hidden door. He enters and walks down the stairs to the tunnels. Brit realizes why they're there. Strahm turning down the hallway to the bathroom/compressor room. Mallick and Brit get ready. Erickson walks down some stairs. Strahm turns down another hallway and kicks the door open. Erickson walks down a hallway. Mallick and Brit decide to go on 3. Strahm looks down a grate. Mallick counts 1. Strahm turns down the hallway leading to the compressor room. Mallick counts 2. Strahm kicks the door open and finds the glass box. Mallick counts 3 and they stick their hand in the saw blades. Strahm investigates the compressor room. Mallick and Brit get the door open. Strahm plays the Hoffman tape and hears Hoffman in the hallway outside. Erickson continues walking down a hallway and finds the door leading to the lair. Brit tells Mallick they won. Erickson finds the lair. Hoffman walks down the hallway and enters the compressor room. Erickson realizes what's going on in the lair. Hoffman picks up the tape player off the floor, Strahm and him fight. Strahm locks Hoffman in the box. Erickson hears Brit, finds her, and calls for help. Strahm gets locked in and tries to open the door. Erickson finds the files on the 5 people and calls Strahms phone, it rings on the desk. Strahm is killed in the compressor room and is now framed. Unreated DC: Mallick and Brit prepare for their next game. Brit realizes that all of the keys would have worked. Strahm watches Hoffman get in his car and follows him. Erickson's assistant finds Strahm's signal, and Erickson leaves to go there. Brit realizes they were all supposed to work together, and their game begins. Hoffman arrives at the Saw II house and Strahm follows behind. *They cut out Strahm walking up to the house.* Mallick confesses what he did. Strahm enters the house *They cut the middle of this scene out as well. The scene where he walks passed the stairs is cut out.* Strahm walks down a dark hallway. Strahm enters the living room and finds the hidden door. He enters and walks down the stairs to the tunnels. Brit realizes how Luba knew her, continues the theatrical dialogue. Then Mallick and Brit both have more dialogue together, saying they both deserve to be there. Erickson arrives at the new lair. *An added scene of Strahm walking down the tunnels.* Erickson walking up the stairs to the front door of the new lair. *Another added scene of Strahm in the corridors* Erickson enters the lair and starts to investigate. Mallick and Brit almost have enough blood to get the door open *They show more close ups of Mallicks hand.* Strahm plays the Hoffman tape and hears Hoffman in the hallway outside. Erickson continues walking down a hallway and finds the door leading to the lair. Mallick and Brit get the door open. Everything up until Strahm's death seems the same except one thing- The only noticable shot after this that's different, is a close up of Strahm's face while he's being crushed and he lets out a scream
