Next year is a huge year for us Ghostbusters fans as 2009 marks the 25th Anniversary of Sony Pictures' hilarious movie starring Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Bill Murray. Some pretty huge news has gone unnoticed, that is until today. According to an article covering the forthcoming video game, a GHOSTBUSTER ride is in the works at Universal Studios. Read on for the skinny.
"2009 also marks the 25th Anniversary of the original theatrical release of Ghostbusters. Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II combined to gross over $500 million world-wide at the box office. The film spawned some of the most memorable comedic catch-phrases and scenes in motion picture history. To recognize this special milestone, Sony Pictures Consumer Products Inc has licensed the property for several new products to commemorate the anniversary, including: video games, toys, t-shirts, comic books, prop replicas, and a theme park attraction.
In addition, the original Ghostbusters car (Ecto-1) has been fully restored with plans for special promotional appearances throughout the US. And for the first time ever, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment will release Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II on Blu-rayTM disc."
What says that the "attraction" will be at Universal Studios? Perhaps it will be in some theme park in England like the Saw rollercoaster. Also, the last Ghostbusters attraction at Universal Studios was a show, not a ride. Crazy assumptions. Also, 2008 was supposed to be the year for Ghostbusters, particularly October, and we know how that panned out. We'll see. I'm optimistic that some good stuff is on its way, but you know what happens to people who assume...
Sounds good, but will wait to see more info as it come our way. I don't want to get my hopes up like this year with the game and all. Now the cartoon is finally coming out in a full box set as well and i would get it too if it wasn't so expensive.

awesome i cant beleive that it has been 25 years allready. man i feel old lol. i hope that ecto one comes to my hometown which i highly doubt it. who u gonna call ghostbusters!!!!!...hey pumpkinheadfan when does or did the dvd with all the ghostbusters cartoons come out?
I am so upset that the real ghostbuster dvd is not comeing out in the UK and time life will not ship it out to the UK too

I hope you're not holding your breath, HorrorFan101. I can tell you without the tiniest shadow of a doubt that there is absolutely zero chance in the world that Blu-Ray is going to go away. It is the hi-def format of choice. It's also not going to replace DVD, but it's no sooner going to go away than...I don't know, no sooner than McDonald's is going to go out of business. Regardless of what it might say online, it's just Not. Going. to. Happen.
