Originally announced over two years ago with Victor Salva (Jeepers Creepers) behind the helm, Warner Bros. and Dark Castle have set their sights on James Cox (Wonderland) to direct the psychological horror movie The Summoner. Written by Matthew Sand, the story centers on a young man experimenting with the dark arts who summons a supernatural being to our world. When his control begins to slip and the situation turns deadly, he must stop the onslaught of evil before it's too late. Casting is under way for a January shoot in Portland, Ore.
It kinda similar to the videogame Summoner, kinda. Anyways, i think Dark Castle should focus on making and releasing the other three films first that they've mentioned (Whiteout, The Factory, Orphan) before going to work on another.
I believe James Cox was originally going to direct The Reaping for Dark Castle. I'm curious what Joel Silver sees in him; I thought Wonderland had some things going for it, but the direction wasn't among them...
