Quantum of Solace Director Takes on ‘World War Z’!
Head on out to the theaters this weekend and check out QUANTUM OF SOLACE if you want to get an idea of the directing styles of Marc Forster. Why would you care? Because Forster has been tapped to direct the highly anticipated World War Z adaptation for Paramount Pictures. Based on the Max Brooks bestselling novel about a worldwide infestation of flesh-eating zombies. “Changeling” scribe J. Michael Straczynski is writing the screenplay, and Brad Pitt’s Plan B is producing. Brooks — the son of Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft — wrote a detailed tale in which a researcher for the U.N. Postwar Commission interviews survivors from countries all over the world, 10 years after the crisis, to gather a first-person post-mortem on a war that obliterated every country on the map.

‘Onslaught’ Official Trailer – Unstoppable Slashers Enter ‘The Guest’ Universe This September
Adam Wingard (You’re Next, The Guest) heads back into the world of The Guest for A24‘s Onslaught, and the badass official trailer has arrived this morning. Check it out below.
It looks like Wingard turned Friday the 13th into an action movie for Onslaught, which unleashes three masked maniacs billed as heat-seeking missiles in the form of humans.
And yes, they’re part of the same secret program seen in The Guest!
Wingard explains, “I look at this as a cap in the trilogy between The Guest and You’re Next. It’s not like a direct sequel, in the sense that it’s a continuation of those characters, but it takes place in the same town as The Guest. The idea is that the secret programs we’re seeing going on here are other little aspects of the same thing David’s character came from in The Guest.”
“So you could actually technically call this a sequel,” Wingard admits. “It’s in the same universe.”
Releasing in theaters on September 4, Adam Wingard’s Onslaught is Rated ‘R’ for “Strong bloody violence, some gore, sexual material/nudity, and language.”
The duo behind The Guest, director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett, are re-teaming for the upcoming Onslaught, which stars Adria Arjona in the leading role.
Here’s the synopsis: “When a rogue squad of genetically engineered super soldiers break loose in the desert, a badass Army sniper must unleash hell to protect her young daughter.”
Rebecca Hall (The Night House, Godzilla x Kong) and Dan Stevens (The Guest) also star in Adam Wingard’s upcoming new movie Onslaught alongside Michael Biehn, Reginald VelJohnson, Eric Wareheim, Drew Starkey, and Alex “Poatan” Pereira.
Dan Stevens starred alongside Maika Monroe in 2014 action-thriller The Guest. He played a mysterious ex-soldier with a secret agenda who wreaks havoc on a small town.
