A love a good interactive marketing campaign, which is why I'm telling you about 20th Century Fox's "What Will You Save?" a cool viral program dedicated to The Day the Earth Stood Still, which arrives in theaters December 12th from director Scott Derrickson (Exorcism of Emily Rose). The program is called Earth's Vital List and it is a fun social networking exercise where you choose what you would hypothetically save if the earth was being demolished.... (iPhone? Girlfriend? Pet? Taco Bell?...) Click here to check it out. Keanu Reeves portrays Klaatu, an alien whose arrival on our planet triggers a global upheaval. As governments and scientists race to unravel the mystery behind the visitor’s appearance, a woman (Jennifer Connelly) and her young stepson get caught up in his mission – and come to understand the ramifications of Klaatu calling himself a “friend to the Earth.”
Well at least they took one they can do something with and not just retread for name recognition.
