I might have been disappointed with Lionsgate's SAW V, but it was bound to happen eventually. Hopefully some lessons were learned and the next will be better. There's not a lot of time left to plan as an official date has been announced for Saw VI, which will bring the latest Jigsaw game to the big screen on October 23, 2009. Our plea... Bring Shawnee Smith back as Amanda, she's the only name from the first SAW I'd like to see return. What do you guys think? The film will be directed by Kevin Greutert from a screenplay by Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton.

I say this franchise has run it's course. After #3, they should have stopped. All I can think of is Halloween, Friday & Elm Street #6. What do they all have in common ? SUCKAGE !!!!

Saw VI: This Is Only The Beginning. Again.

Actually, all the #5's sucked. Friday part 6 is good. Halloween 6 and Nightmare 6 did suck indeed. Friday part 5 is the worst in the series, IMO. However, what I have noticed with all the series is that part 5 is where their box office starts falling. Friday part 4, Nightmare part 4 both peaked box office wise with their 4th installments, which did very well. Then part 5 came out for both series and they didn't do as well.

Yay, another Saw movie. Not to say that I don't like them, I happen to enjoy them very much, but is it really necessary to have another one? I mean, how many do you really need?

No, it's not necessary. All they're doing now is explaining stuff that people didn't know about or care about in the first place. "Oh, Jigsaw had ANOTHER assistant...um, okay... Oh great, now we need ANOTHER movie to explain via flashback how all that happened, ugh..." It's the very definition of milking a franchise. I say it should have stopped at part 3, maybe part 4.

Amanda is... dead. Jigsaw is... dead. Strom is... dead. Anyone who knew anything about the Jigsaw and or Hoffman killer is dead. The series has run its course and I am tired of them retcon'ing everything.

I just want them to end Saw on a good note, not like they did with 5. 5 actually could have been a logical ending to the series, but the film itself was not good enough to end the series on.

this movies need to end right right now let them die

Well, we've essentially had 'Saw 5: A New Beginning' in which someone else dons the real killer's MO, so I guess it's only logical that 'Saw 6: Jigsaw Lives!' starts off with Jigsaw's corpse being reanimated by a lightning strike. Personally, I can't wait for 'Jigsaw Takes Manhattan'...

Boilersuit_Mayhem: YEAH! Then we'll soon have Jigsaw in space, and finally, sometime down the road, the original Saw will be remade with Michael Bay producing. And the bathroom will go up in an EPIC explosion.

Saw 6 is needed to finish the story, with how things ended in 5. It's clearly two separate trilogies, whether you guys like them or not. But please, NO Saw 7. End it on a high note with a happy ending for once, please. I want to see Jill chain Hoffman to the bathroom. Part 5 is definitely the middle part of a trilogy and follows similar story structures from many others. If you think about it, part 5 ended a LOT like Empire Strikes Back--a smart-assed, rebellious hero was defeated, the villain won, new revelations of backstory were made, and virtually no hope for salvation was in immediate sight, but...as Yoda said, "there is another", a female we all might have overlooked--Jill.

I’m totally glad Saw sequels are getting pumped out year after year. We haven’t had a good, long horror series since the eighties. Quit yer whinin’ people! Horror series exist for one reason: to be stretched to the breaking point and then “rebooted!” I look forward to “Saw Begins” in 2020!

this franchise is over...its ruined. Saw V was the worst of them yet, and there is no use in trying to save the series and end it with one movie. there are no characters, puzzles, or death's that would save this giant piece of garbage franchise...F#@* everything they do

To me, the franchise is not over! If they want to; they could do more. A lot more! As Jigsaw says: "The games have just begun!"

I think Shawnee Smith can't act her way out of a wet paper nut sack, that's what I think.

Bring back fucking Leigh Whannell to write the god damn things I say... And, Mr.Disgusting, I totally agree...Bring back Shawnee Smith...She was the one person I thought that could actually keep the series alive...shame...

Justin Warren

How could you possibly bring back Shawnee Smith except in flashbacks? She died.

6:41pm, November 13, 2008

I WISH THE SERIES WOULD JUST DIE!!!!

Jonny Horror, just my opinion but Friday 6 wasn't a bod Friday I actually like that one. Now the others like H and Nightmare 6, yes I agree they sucked. I do agree SAW is done let it die and be over with.

AmandasEvolution
7:07pm, November 13, 2008

They can only bring her back in flashbacks and that's why it sucks ass...I haven't been as into the series as I was since she died in the IMMENSE SAW III...I will still continue to pay to see this series every year though just to see where it goes...

Saturdaythe13th
7:35pm, November 13, 2008

It was really stupid to kill Shawnee Smith in Saw 3. They had Jigsaw's successor right there and she could have continued on -- but they killed her and him in the same scene. Bad move. Then they immediately brought in someone else new to be the successor, what's the point?

8:28pm, November 13, 2008

If they finally decide to finish it after 6 i want to know wat happens to lawrence gordon...need to know and if they dont let fans know i will be extremly pissed off....tie ALL loose ends

chosen1_4a_reason
11:53pm, November 13, 2008

honestly shannon do you really think if they brought back dr. gordon it would save the series? they would be stretching so far to even bring that story line back..it would just be one other ridiculous lose end that wouldn't make any sense to the story now. Really if anyone thinks they can make this good again they are crazy

Knight of Cydonia

Fuck the naysayers. I can't wait to see how the story continues.

horrorchick81
6:48am, November 14, 2008

man i guess lionsgate cant think of any good horror movies (or to chickent to release the good ones mmt) so they decide to milk the crap out of SAW.
