After the Paul Andrew Williams (The Cottage) rumors were squashed, all we were left with was news that 28 Months Later was definitely in the near future. This weekend creator Danny Boyle was in Hollywood promoting his latest feature film, the incredible SLUMDOG MILLIONARE, where he revealed the shocking news that he might direct the next film. "I'd certainly like to," Boyle said in a group interview, courtesy of Sci Fi Wire. "I feel the idea is quite a strong idea, and it could well involve directing it. Yeah, absolutely." Boyle directed 28 DAYS LATER, while Juan Carlos Fresnadillo took over directing duties for 28 WEEKS LATER.

Yes - there should be one more. Just one though. They went a little crazy with Saw sequels. Not to mention Friday the 13th, Halloween, and Nightmare on Elm Streets. But one more intense, scary as fuck, turbo-psycho, foaming blood at the mouth, assault on the audience would definitely be welcome in my book. In fact, they should have a movie where Danny Boyle's zombies do battle with George Romero's zombies.

I'm not sure if Danny Boyle is the best choice. This is one of the very few franchise's where the sequel( 28 weeks) in my opinion was far superior than the first (28 days). If 28 Months is a hit, I'm sure we will see 28 Years.

Johnny Horror i'm in the same boat. i absolutely LOVE Weeks more than Days. as long as Boyle can keep the action level up (i have NO question on his keeping the feel and look the same) then i'm thrilled to have Boyle back. i'm just stoked they are making one more part (at least!).

Awesome!!! Danny Boyle is one of my favorite directors.. All movies, if continuing with sequels, should definitely stop at 3.

I'd be happy with either director. I think both are great, so I wouldnt complain. I'm just happy they're making another. I like my zombies fast and deadly.

i think he'll definitly keep the action up in the next movie, one of the most action packed scenes in Weeks (the beginning) was directed by Boyle. I'm excited, i would like to see a mixture of Days and Weeks, keep the creepy uneasy feel of Days yet still have the edge of your seat action of Weeks.

Umbilical Noose, well said. i agree. if the 3rd part can have the eeriness of DAYS and the gore and action of WEEKS, then i'm in love! LOL.

Definitely onboard for another 28 movie. Awesome franchise that deserves another chapter.

I'd love to see another installment. Hopefully he does end up directing it.

My bet is that Boyle will produce and slough the directing job onto someone else, though I'd like to see him tackle this one.

I ejoyed Weeks better than Days but it would be great to see the original director take on this one, then stop ! Don't make countless and inferior sequles. Trilogy only !

I'm just wondering how the infected (NOT ZOMBIES, THE INFECTED ARE STILL ALIVE) would be able to survive such a long time period.

I'd love to see the evolution of the contamination in different European countries, like France for example (we hear a message in French at the end of "28 Weeks Later"), or Belgium, even Italy. The US Army would support European troops to fight all the zombies in a crazy, over-the-top apocalyptic battle. I hope Mr. Danny Boyle will be up for a new challenge.

I agree with the posters who like the sequel better than the original. When i first watched 28 Days Later i hated it. I gave it a 2nd chance and really did grow to like it but i still think the ending was very weak.

Fucking fantastic!!! I hope he does it the first and the second were awesome I think he should close off his own series there is no way there would be a fourth at least not for years and years later. The cabin scene in the second one he did all the directing for which was scary as hell so now that he watched the second one done with the action I think he will be able to incorparate it more in the third
