Interesting thus far. I am going to keep my eye on this one, looks like it could be promising.

Please be good. I really need a good movie with no number after the title.

Looks Cool! Something Original Finally!

It may be good, but RAIMI could have made EVIL DEAD 4 instead of this. That would have been a guaranteed horror hit and something every horror fan wants from him, not some new horror story. "SAM, PLEASE BRING BACK ASH BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE" ????

Love you Sam but IMO horror+comedy=shit!

This looks amazing, horror/comedy is like the best genre ever! Leave it up to the person who practically invented it to come out with an awesome new movie. I loved that clip, and until now I had no idea Justin Long was involved. I love that guy! Here's to hoping the movie is plenty of fun.

fuck this MAKE EVIL DEAD 4!!!

Yeah, forget this original story with a brand new cast of characters! Scrap this project and go back to Ash fighting Deadites, but this time do it in Nakatome Towers and have him run around without pants on... cuz, like, that would be cool. Yeah, and give him a fire hand, cuz that would be cool. Dude! And then, you could like totally make Ash vs. Jaws and it could totally rock. No one wants to see an original movie with brand new characters like this stuff... and, like, who wants to mix horror with comedy? Dude! Remake the Omen again... only this time, have Ash like totally get medieval on Damien, but have him work with Travolta from Pulp Fiction cuz that would, like, be cool or somethin'! Alternately, I could just look forward to this movie and be glad Raimi still enjoys working in a genre where the fan boys sit around writing stupid crap about how he NEEDS to make Evil Dead 4 or he's a sell out.

REDCAPJACK, What the hell are you talkin about? Do you you seriously believe that most horror fans want to see a new RAIMI movie other than a new EVIL DEAD ? And who said he's a sell out? The demand for EVIL DEAD 4 has been overwhelming for years and if you don't know that, you've been under a rock or watching to much Beavis and Butthead reruns as your above description leads me to believe.

When and if Evil Dead 4 gets made, than I'll be happy to see it. I'm not going to shackle a talented director to a project based solely on the idea that he owes it to his fan base. I believe that most horror fans either have the ability to respect a man for following a path he chooses for himself or they're really not worth the effort of his talent to begin with. Personally, I'm sick of reading comments from "fans" who demand that he make Evil Dead 4 every time some bit of news about Raimi hits this and other sites.

I'm with you, redcapjack. If I were a director with the kind of money and clout Raimi must have by now and I had an original idea or vision of my own that I wanted to see realised on the screen, I would definitely make the original movie. And there's something people need to understand about the creative personality; it will always go in the direction it feels the inspiration or desire to go, if it's able. It certainly won't do something just because a whole bunch of other people think it should. Raimi made some awesome movies with the Evil Dead saga. The saga has a great many very passionate fans. And Raimi respects genuine appreciation of his work. "None" of those facts, or any combination of those facts, bind Raimi to anything. He doesn't "owe" his fans anything. He is the creator of his work. Not us. Besides, if Raimi were the kind of director who listened to everybody else and only made the movies everyone else told him he should, then the Evil Dead movies would never have been made in the first place.

Look, nobody is saying Raimi can't do what he wants. He also does not owe anybody anything. The whole point is he(Raimi) himself has stated a desire in recent years to the possibilty of remaking or to continue the EVIL DEAD series. We EVIL DEAD fans would love to see this with Bruce Campbell in the role. He's not getting any younger and neither is Raimi. If that is being impatient or demanding, SO WHAT. It's what the fans want. In some ways he does owe something, and that's the EVIL DEAD. That is how he got his money and clout.

Drag me to a shitty PG-13 Rami movie that isn't Spiderman.

shattered68
2:14am, October 29, 2008

...Because Sony/Columbia has no interest in a hard R remake or sequel to the "Evil Dead".

Wharmon
4:59am, October 29, 2008

Yeah, so you're saying that the Spiderman movies had nothing to do with the money and clout we spoke of? It's all come from Evil Dead DVD sales all these years?

Jonny Horror
11:28am, October 29, 2008

NO WHARMON , You should know what I meant, GET REAL. He got the Spiderman gig(s) (where I'll bet he got most of his dough) because of his past work, one being EVIL DEAD.

Stinger839

I don't think Raimi has shown talent since he's been given workable budgets. Take away his multi-millions and he might make another decent film. Besides that, there is no hope for this guy. He proclaimed with Army of Darkness that he wanted to make cliched Hollywood action fests, and now that's exactly what he's doing. Consider Evil Dead and Evil Dead 2 lucky flukes.

This will be awesome. Then he will hopefully get to work on Spider-Man 4.

Yeah FUCK YOU redcapjack, and Fuck Sam Rami. He is a pussy, and a sell out for not making a new Evil Dead.

Fuck ED4. Army of Darkness was shit.More new horror please.

Jonny Horror
2:21pm, October 29, 2008

Wow. The above statement might be the dumbest seen on these blogs. I'll bet Birkhill Slasher liked The Prom Night remake and first seen horror movie was Wes Craven's Wishmaster.

that screams Raimi. awesome. BTW, has anyone even CONSIDERED that Raimi might not want to do anymore evil deads?? stop complaining.

GI.Dan

@ tom_dahm. No he just wants to make crap now apparently
