Elite Entertainment, one of the world’s premier independent suppliers of horror/cult/sci-fi DVD titles, has entered into an exclusive distribution agreement with horror label/distributor Brain Damage Films. Under the deal, Brain Damage Films will distribute Elite’s complete catalog and all upcoming titles, both in the U.S. and Canada. The announcement was made today by Vini Bancalari, President, Elite Entertainment, and Darrin Ramage, President, Brain Damage Films.

“This switch to Brain Damage Films represents a bold and exciting move for Elite Entertainment, as we continue to expand the reach of our programming,” said Bancalari. “It’s encouraging to know that in these economic times, two independent labels within the same genre can form a relationship that will continue to pump out both catalog and new programming to an ever-growing fan base.”

“Elite’s library of restored cult classic horror and Sci-Fi films is second to none in quality,” said Ramage. “As Elite continues to acquire high quality, independent horror programming, it will mark another step in Brain Damage Films’ continuing growth as an independent distributor of this genre.”
Brain Damage Films will immediately begin distributing Elite’s catalog, which includes the George Romero classic Night of the Living Dead; the original I Spit On Your Grave (ahead of the 2009 theatrical remake); Fearmakers Collection (a three-disc set chronicling the careers of the true masters of horror); Creature Features (a history of monsters in cinema); and Savage Harvest 2 and The Severed Head Network (from independent film company Wicked Pixel Cinema).

The first new title in the Elite/Brain Damage deal, to be released in the first quarter of 2009, will be Devil Girl, a sexy, psychological, road trip cult thriller that devolves into a living nightmare (for a preview, visit www.devilgirlthemovie.com).

Elite Entertainment was founded in 1993. The company is currently one of the leaders in the restoration and distribution of horror, science fiction and cult DVD titles, including “Night of the Living Dead,” “Evil Dead,” “Tower of Evil” and “I Spit On Your Grave.” Other titles include the cult favorite “Horror;” a triple feature on the Masterworks of the German Horror Cinema, including the original silent films “Nosferatu,” “Der Golem” and “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari;” the “Drive-In Discs” series, and the popular Millennium Edition series, including “Night of the Living Dead,” “Re-Animator” and “I Spit On Your Grave.”

Brain Damage Films, formed in 2000, is one of the leading independent horror distributors in the industry, with over 300 titles in its growing library. The company produces in-house independent horror films for the Generation X audience, including the cult classic Traces of Death series.

Has there even been a GOOD Brain Damage film?

I really hope this is Brain Damage's attempt at "cleaning up" their content. Most of what I've seen from them is so poorly produced that it's nearly unwatchable...
