Warner Bros. Sets Watchmen Writer on 'Ninja Scroll'

I was starting to think we'd never see a live-action adaptation to the Manga action-horror film Ninja Scroll, but thankfully the film was acquired by Warner Bros. Pictures this past week, which still slightly concerns me. WB has been putting a live-action adaptation of AKIRA together for years, and it has still yet to shoot. At least there's some (exciting) progress already as Alex Tse (Watchmen) has been set to write the script. Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way is producing both SCROLL and AKIRA. SCROLL, set in feudal Japan, revolves around ninja for hire is forced to fight an old enemy who will stop at nothing to overthrow the government, which is run by a group of monsters. DiCaprio is not planning to act in the film. Read on for a look at the trailer for the animated film.

Yea, I second that. It was the first anime I ever watched, and it still has a spot in my heart.

I friggin LOVE Ninja Scroll. It's one of the few movies I prefer to watch in Japanese with English subs. Normally I can't stand Japanese voice overs....but this movie had horrible English dubbing.

This is one film I can see actually being better if they were to make it a frame for frame remake of the animated film. Every shot of the animated is SIC. So anyone who hasnt seen it needs to it is fucking awesome.

The only Anime i ever saw that was worth a shit, sorry I just can't get into it, but Ninja Scroll was awesome.

Place your bets: this Feudal Japanese set film with Japanese martial artists and Japanese demons will contain a white person (probably male) in some retarded capacity. I can hardly wait to see how they fuck this one up. Forgive my pessimism.

Holy shit, I was stoked about Akira but fucking Ninja Scroll! I hope they're both as violent and crazy as the original versions.
