Back in July it was announced here that M. Night Shyamalan would be producing a trio of thrillers over the next three years. The series is going under the name NIGHT CHRONICLES as Shyamalan will create the stories and ideas for the films and pick the writers and directors. Although we've yet to find out the plot or the title for the first film, we did learn at the Scream Awards this weekend that John and Drew Dowdle (Quarantine, The Poughkeepsie Tapes) are lined up to write and direct the first project. We'll get back to you guys with more information when something becomes official.

Now, this could work, the guy has good ideas, the trouble it's when he tries to put them on film, or even worse, act on them, maybe with some additional scripting could be be something good...
I just finished The Happening a few days ago and was only slightly disappointed. The Sixth Sense was a tough film to follow and critics and fans alike have expected much more than many feel M. Night is capable of delivering.
He will undoubtedly have another box office hit. He's evolving and I think this project will refresh his sense of purpose in the industry--directing, producing, crossing genres? It will be interesting to see what the next three years hold in store.
