I agree - he's prolly just doing this cause of his US$60 pay-day for Pirates 4+. whatever happened to the Johnny Depp we knew and loved that just accepted quirky challenging roles like Scissorhands and Dean Corso? Pirates 3 was garbage and I don't think i want to waste admission price on Johnny stumbling around like an idiot with sunstroke like in the last three films. yawn.

Dark Shadows has a history of never staying dead. I think that no one really knows what is going on with the movie. Depp's company bought the rights to film the movie and Burton is interested in directing it. This movie will happen.

I think this is still a dream of his and even though Tim Burton's last few picks have not been that desirable. I can't image any body else doing a Dark Shadows film besides Depp and Burton. So maybe the wait will help cultivate a good script and some great casting picks.

I'm definitely pumped about the possibility of Depp and Burton doing a movie version of Dark Shadows. I love the show and think it would be sweet to see Deep play the role of Barnabas. I won't get my hopes up, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

he hasnt starred in anything decent lately....(ok maybe sweeny todd, sleepy hollow, and the first potc) but come on if it wasnt for 21 jump street and nightmare on elm street 1 hed prob be a noname. he needs to return to the genre that started it all! i mean come on how many potc can you milk out???? oh wait i forgot he is getting paid millions of dollars just to star in them......

I think I'll keep this tidbit to myself, because when I mentioned that he was looking at Dark Shadows to my dark friends, I got squeals of glee and excited bouncing.

I feel that now would be a perfect time for a "Dark Shadows" motion picture. How dare Disney crowd in to Warner Bros. plans for "Dark Shadows". I don't really care for another Pirates of C movie. "Dark Shadows" would be much more exciting. I guess we will have to wait until 2011 or 2012. Damn these next 4 years are going to be tough and a long wait. That's the next Presidential Election time.
