While Summit Entertainment's SORORITY ROW is now officially in production, we caught up with director Stewart Hendler a week before to see what his aspirations are for the remake of THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW. If you click here you can read all about the gore, the scares and what the film will look like. When five sorority girls inadvertently cause the murder of one of their sisters in a prank gone wrong, they agree to keep the matter to themselves and never speak of it again, so they can get on with their lives. This proves easier said than done, when after graduation a mysterious killer goes after the five of them and anyone who knows their secret...
I agree with poisonkeyblade. the black christmas remake was insulting. what the fuck was up with the added incest? damn that movie was cheap. It was still fun to watch, though. i hope this will be better. does anyone know if there are plans to do a re-release of the original sorority row? I don't want to put down $35 bucks for something that will be re-released soon.
Considering one of the actors is from "The Hills" -- I bet this movie is going to fucking blow. The acting in the Black Christmas remake was atrocious. I hope it's not a campy comedic horror like the BC remake turned out to be. it was a decent movie, but it turned out differently than how I thought it would. how about some real, creepy horror for this remake!
Black Christmas remake wasn't bad...I didn't absolutely love it, but it reminded me of some good old cheesy slashers... I think Sorority Row could stand a chance. What is it with "grizzly" violence?!
thedescent08, i wonder how Glenn's version (of BC) was SUPPOSED to turn out. i've read that he had a whole movie shot (more or less) that the studio heads decimated and had him reshoot multiple times. i have a feeling Glenn's version was going to be very cool.
djblack1313 -- I bet his version was great. Dimension seems to feel the need to cut cut cut all of their movies and ruin the filmmaker's vision. They even cut some of their Dimension Extreme releases as well. It's kind of ironic because one of the main reasons the Weinsteins split from Disney was forced censorship.
Yeah, his version was probably dark and amazing. Not that I didn't love the movie we were given in its own way, but it could have been so much better.
