This October Bloody-Disgusting was asked to help participate in Amazon.com's "Countdown to Halloween". Every Friday Amazon will feature a brand new horror list from regular B-D contributors. This morning Amazon added David Harley's 10 Must See Ghost Films, which is the first of four upcoming lists. Watch this spot every Friday for Tex, Horror Guy Keenan and my own list to be featured over at Amazon.

Perfect list, except one thing - and its probably unreasonable on my part. The great film festival reviewed Paranormal Activity should be in there. I know it hasn't been released yet, and I know that Dreamworks bought it and is planning on fucking it up by making a pointless remake and not releasing the original version. But mabey some more hype would get the original the release it deserves. I mean there are a ton of reviews that say it could be the scariest movie ever made. Other than that, the Ghost Films list is spot on.

COOL LIST! Have to check out the ones that I have not seen yet!

coldblood -- I agree, and I also agree that the remake idea is fucking insane. The movie isn't even two fucking years old. What is there to improve on for a mockumentary --which is supposed to look gritty and amateurish?!?!?! Hollywood never fails to amaze me.

I was liking the list until I saw your number one. Kubrick's The Shining (while having it's moments) seems almost out of place on this list. Surely there's another supernatural film out there that sits better on this list? Even as it stands The Shining has it's flaws that knock it off the list anyway. Love the movie, love the list, but come on!

The most glaring omissions: The Lady In White and 1944's The Uninvited, quite possibly the best ghost movie ever.

the list is pretty good...I'm still trying to find Paranormal Activity at all, can someone help me out on this.

In all honesty, one of the best ghost films is The Changeling (1980), it's a huge inspiration.

It's missing RING (and I mean the orignal Japanese one). A lot of Asian horror movies are ghost themed but RING deserves special mention.
