Seriously, what have a got myself into? I started covering Twilight before anyone else caught on and now I'm probably the one person regretting it more than anything. I love Catherine Hardwicke, and still have high hopes that she'll turn in a solid little thriller, but the trailer and stills released just make me gag. Today Summit released two more snoozers of pics, while also announcing that the new trailer will hit tonight via the widget inside. Let's hope for the best. TWILIGHT hits theaters November 21.
is this even supposed to be a real "thriller"? isn't it just like, a teen romance movie with vampires in it? so why bash it for being what it is? just because you misinterpreted what the film was about doesn't make it a bad film.. though i agree that it looks lame, i never expected it to be real thriller....
It's not a thriller, you're right it's a Romance with Vampires. I've read the books and enjoyed them, they are prob my fave book series. But I don't think it should have been covered here on the site. It's not Horror. It's lame that you shit on the movie when you were the one mistaken.
How is it a travesty? It's not being billed as a vampiric horror movie. It's not like the books were full of horror elements and the movie is completely straying from them. These books have had buzz for a few years now. They are what they are and that's basically a teen love story involving an altruist vampire.
Although I have zero interest in this movie, I do agree with ShaZamy and Lammendam that it isn't fair for it to be covered on this site. After all, this is not a horror film. As said, it's a teen vampire romance--sort of like "Romeo and Juliet" fused with "The Warriors" with vampires thrown in for good measure. BD is just taking up extra space in their news feed by reporting on this because this is not a film aimed at horror audiences.
Another vampire love story *sigh*. What happened to movies like The Lost Boys and Interview with the Vampire? That's when vampire movies were good. And why is this movie being covered here? It's far from horror.
I bet the first week's theater experiences will be hellish -- with all those fucking annoying teenage girls screaming their asses off at anything. Honestly, The Grudge remake was the worst movie experience I have ever had. I saw it with my girlfriend and she kept begging me to walk out with her. There were two old people in the theater who finally complained. Haven't seen a PG-13 teen horror film in theaters since!
Acutally, they did show the film to some people and got feedback on it; that's why they've added more scenes to put in stuff people wanted to see. BUT I don't think I'm going to be disappointed with the movie, and he may have been if he thought it was going to be horror. I say after this, to just stop covering this movie. I enjoyed reading about it and appreciate the news, buut it's obviously not flying well with people here and AGAIN, it's NOT HORROR.
Btw, I don't know if it was the whole movie or to what kind of audience-or even if it was the whole movie-but it was previewed/shown. And since the movie's almost finished being polished up, it maybe better than what he (probably) saw.
I enjoyed the books (except the one, which was pretty much a piece of shit), so I want to see this. Of course, it's not horror, but thanks for covering it because this is really the only website I go to for moview news (:
Sorry to disappoint, but I HAVE seen the entire thing. I was not expecting a horror film. It is slow, plodding, and boring. Could easily use a good 30 minutes cut out of it.
Well, it definitely does not belong on this site. Just because it has "vampires" in it does not make it worthy for this site. I will take it for what it is and that is a romantic story. Based on that trailer it seems like a yawn. (Maybe DVD?....Maybe.)
Ah, I see. Well hopefully the final version will be a lot better than what you saw. Even if you don't end p liking it, I definitely will; the new trailer has me very excited about it.
I saw it too and now need my brain scrubed with industrial strength solvents to get that stupid shit out of my mind, what the fuck were they thinking? This fucking sucks! when they said they needed to go back and shoot more scenes that told you they were aware of the steaming pile of shit they had on there hands!
The daylight doesn't affect them (well, the place they live in is always cloudy, so they're good on days like that, but either way, they don't die in the sun; something else happens). Oh, and the female character is just naturally pale, which made her stand out in her old school since everyone was blond and tanned.
