Early Art For 'Frontier(s)' Director's Next!

One of the best parts of JAWS is when the story of The USS Indianapolis is told. In retrospect, it's probably a more terrifying story than that of JAWS. While the director's of OPEN WATER work on their version of the true story, FRONTIER(S) director Xavier Gens is out prepping Vanikoro, which brings some of those elements to the big screen (listen to an interview with Gens about the film). Today a French website score a look at some early art for the film, which you can check out inside.

Image from Filmsactu, who writes in, "Gens talks about a famous French mariner Laperouse, got lost in 1788. Historians suppose that he and his crews disappeared on Vanikoro island, one of the Salomon’s Islands. The legend says that the island probably had some dangerous murderers (cannibals!) living people on it who killed any visitors who came closed to them."

EXCELLENT poster! i love it, but i thought Gans's next film was "The Horde"? no? both these films sound excellent so i'm psyched either way. i LOVE (and own on DVD) FRONTIER(s).

FRONTIER(S) was truly awesome... sort of like a French TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Now, I'm excited to see what the director can do with this movie (which sounds cool).

agreed, my new obsession is french horror thanks to frontier(s)

FRONTIER(S) was fucking awesome. That shit could never be made by the pussy american filmmakers who's idea of originality is a watered down, PG-13 remake of a great foreign film. I loved INSIDE, EDEN LOG, HIGH TENSION, THEM -- every French horror movie that's been getting a lot of buzz in the past few years. I hope they keep it up and I can't wait to see this movie!

I've said it before and I'll say it again: like "Wrong Turn 2", I don't get the obsession with "Frontier(s)". I thought it was pure crappola, but I'm guessing I'm the only one here with that opinion.

@djblack1313, a different director is helming "The Horde", but Gans is producing.

*in reguards to the comment posted by "djblack1313".* Gens is only acting as producer for "The Horde".

TheDeadMayTasteBad -- I easily can see why people could hate FRONTIER(S), but I still loved it and enjoyed every second of it. It seems to be a love it or hate it type of movie, though.

TheDeadMayTasteBad: I agree with you that Frontier(s) sucked. Unoriginal and pointless, and nowhere near as violent as advertised.

for me i think the main reason i LOVED Frontiers is because of the awesome acting by Karina Testa. she was amazing (reminded me in the best way of Cecile de France's brilliant acting in HIGH TENSION). that and the visuals were great! i admit it wasn't all that original but what is nowadays?

Frontiers is fucking awful, over edited un scary tacky pile of shit, oooo neo nazis, fuck off! Some of the gore is outstanding but its such a fucking run of the mill pile of crap. The french wave of new horror is ballsy and in your face such as switchblade and inside, but Frontiers came a little to late and seemed incredibly routine.

"While the director's of OPEN WATER work on their version of the..." You don't need an apostrophe in the word "directors" in this case. Lord, how I wish people would brush up on their spelling, grammar, and punctuation. This whole nation seems to have forgotten how to use tne English language.

I'm sorry, by the way, I don't mean to come off as a prick. I just hate seeing my legit news sources making themselves looks LESS credible by misusing English and not proof-reading. It just makes it so much easier for other "legit" newspeople to "write off" sites like this, which happens to make me very upset. Thanks. Hope you don't mind the constructive criticism.

Did you mean "use the English language"? Just trying to keep things credible around here.

drwynn, also you say "making themselves looks LESS credible". i assume you mean "making themselves LOOK less credible"? just trying to add "constructive criticism".
