We brought you the first stills from behind-the-scenes of Lionsgate's My Bloody Valentine 3-D, now we've got the first official image from the film that arrives in theaters January 16, 2009. In the remake directed by Patrick Lussier, Tom (Jensen Ackles) returns to his hometown on the tenth anniversary of the Valentine's night massacre that claimed the life of 22 people. Instead of a homecoming, Tom finds himself suspected of committing the murders. It is said that the new 3-D technology being used will blow people's minds.
Another death by ceiling fan? How ridiculous! It was stupid in that Lou Diamond Phillips movie...The Third Power, or whatever and it will always be stupid. I've accidentally stuck my hand in a high-speed ceiling fan (multiple times...long story) and all it did was hurt and temporarily slow the fan.
Great, now we're judging horror movies deaths based on real life logic and physics, that's cool... what's next? action movies? james bond stunts... boring... damn mythbusters
the pic looks decent btw, even if the killer just picked up someone and lifted them towards the fan... cool by my standards...I mean, by today standards that is.
Just look at the goddamn picture. there's no blood splatter behind the fan blades. It's just fucking blood splatter. on a fucking fan. god, you guys really jump to conclusions.
Cloverfield, Hostel, Final Destination 2, White Noise, and Underworld: Evolution are all horror/sci-fi hits that came out in January. If a movie has a good trailer and marketing campaign then it's going to make money no matter when it's released.
There are definitely collections of grue on the edges of the blades. And, btw, there is only a certain amount of suspension of disbelief allowed for the type of film you're making. You can't die from a ceiling fan unless it falls on your fucking head and breaks your stupid neck.
Yeah, there is no splatter behind the blades, so that lets us know the fan wasn't moving. Modern horror isn't that cheesy. Hopefully this one will be more violent than the original. For an 80's flick, the original was pretty damn tame.
Ok, unless you live in the tropics, you do not use a fan in february! So obvious it was not on when this murder occured. With that being said, I like the still no matter how this victim was done in. I can't wait for this!
i'm SO excited for this! this movie and the FRIDAY reboot and UNDERWORLD:ROLycans are the 3 movies (MBV & UNDERWORLD both coming out in Jan) that i'm the most looking forward to! January can't come soon enough.
The original My Bloody Valentine was great-just because it didn't generate a slew of weak-ass sequels doesn't diminish that. It was suspenseful because the characters were likeable and believable, the gore was sufficient, and alongside Terror Train and Halloween, it was one of the best looking horror movies of the era. I have high hopes that the 3D will serve the story and not just be a stupid gimmick in this remake.
LOVE the pic..he's so hott..lol! 3D will be alright but not looking forward to it just the regular 2D is good enough for me.
