Lionsgate has kicked off a brand new promotion over at YouTube where fans can upload their own SAW mash-up videos for a chance to win some cool prizes for Saw V. Inside you can let Jigsaw tell you all about it in a new video clip for the film that arrives in theaters October 24th. In the fifth installment of the popular SAW franchise, Hoffman is seemingly the last person alive to carry on the Jigsaw legacy. But when his secret is threatened, Hoffman must go on the hunt to eliminate all loose ends.
"Hello... You're watching me on(**cough**)-youtube-(**cough**)... I sound a lot like.... Tobin Bell.... now go on Youtube mothafucka.... while I collect another paycheck..." Ah, isn't that cute! Jiggy sold out!
saw 4 took a dramatic dip at the box office compared to 2 and 3 and its obvious that the movies are now on the decline in appeal, so its obvious again that there cutting down on promotional cost as were under a damn month to go before the movie comes out and we dont even have a damn trailer.
i tell you, waiting on a trailer is prolly gonna have the exact opposite affect on the money issues.
jasonlives1986, I think "Saw V" is still, for better or worse, a pretty bankable guarantee. I mean, how big are the budgets for these pictures anyway- 4, 5 million? If the film only needs 2x that to break even with market costs/international advertising/etc. then it'll most likely still bring in some decent cash. Part IV still brought in upwards of $60 million, that's about $50 in revenue and enough cash to make (god forbid) another 4-5 Saw films, if the $ is handled as it has been with the series thus far. That's not even counting the benefits these films could cut down the budgets and through them straight-to-dvd--preventing payment %s to the box-office and international advertising.
totally agree and I guess that was my point, sure if they dont market the movie there gonna take some kind of hit on the box office, but there still going to bring in tons of money.
I love the original, hate the sequel, 3 is ok and 4 is ok, but these movies are going no where in story and it makes it hard for them to be any good.
I think that's actually Hoffman doing the voice. I mean think about it, he is supposedly the new Jigsaw and how many tapes could John have prepared before his death anyway. Since 3 and 4 took place at the same time John still was making the games. Now he is gone and Hoffman is stepping in. I believe it is Hoffman not John who is on this video and that is why it sounds different. Plus I have a feeling that this little change will have a big part in SAW V. I can't wait and in response to SAW IV's box office returns I think that they were down compared to the other SAW films because many people were disappointed with SAW III. Some people said goodbye to the series in general and some just waited to see IV on dvd. I believe IV is a far superior film than III and from what I have read from other fan reviews I am not in the minority here. The SAW films always have a huge opening weekend and hopefully SAW V will have more of a shelf life than SAW IV did even though IV was really good. Regardless all the SAW fanatics will come out for their guy Jigsaw. Hopefully the horror community in general will get behind SAW V. All I know is that on October 24th, you all know where I'll be.
I'll tell you how it ends Jigsaw with my fucking fist down your throat BITCH. I hate these shitty contest. You enter but never win. Some hick form buttfuck nowhere wins. Always.
yea i agree wit the whole hoffman voice theory

3 new stills. and they look pretty damn real to me.
plus there is one "important" bonus still but im not sure if thats real or not. unless they r showing a brief vlashback of some unused footage from saw 4.
any thoughts?
I am - however - gonna be watching 4 soon again, just to remind myself of the story so far..
You know, before V comes out..
And I suggest you true SAW-supporters, do the same..
In the first installment we had Zepp run his game, while Adam and Lawrence were being tested.
On Saw 2, Eric was put into his test.
On Saw 3, both Amanda and Jeff were put into their tests.
Last year, we've seen Art run his game, and Rigg being put into his "You have to leave them alone, let go of your "I-have-the-urge-to-save-everyone-, they should manage themselves"-test.
I don't know this for sure, but it seems as that now Agent Strahm is being put to his test.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember anyone 'running their games, on SAW 2 and 3.. Again, pleae correct me if I'm dead-wrong, and don't tell me which persons WERE, but just tell me to go see those movies again, for I want to find out myself.. BUT ... I really don't think this was the case ...
